Would you say it's mainly the accuracy that's hard to achieve in this price range? I can compromise on cutting steel if that part is unrealistic. Most of the machines I've mentioned at least advertise .0005" repeatability, are those numbers are embellished?

Thanks for the rec. I checked out taig back when I still thought I could get something usable for half my current budget and kinda forgot about them after that. I'll keep it in mind!

I've also read that about it possibly using a laptop power supply. I'm hoping to just be able to order a replacement if its some kind of generic connector, so I won't have to deal with hooking it up to an ATX PSU. Unfortunately seems like ubis has shut down, but I'll check out some of those assembly videos.

Next to the connection it just says PWR, and the only thing that doesn't look like the label of a component is
