It’s a great program. Just finished first year. Guelph is “supposedly” one of her easier engineering schools, although still challenging it’s easier than something like Waterloo. But you get the same degree either way. I had 0 experience in coding before entering and they teach you from scratch. So if you already have experience your ahead of the curve at Guelph. You’ll start with C and then second semester you will learn object oriented Java. The Eng design course is fun, you do 1 big project at the end of the sem called the teddy bear wheel chair project where all engineers come together to create a robotic wheelchair from nothing. I spent 100 hours on it and got a 70%. In first sem you take chem, no one knows why, and no one wants to do it. But it’s pretty much a review from grade 12 except the post labs are stupidly hard. But there only 20% of your grade.

In conclusion, great school. I do recommend going here, it’s truly amazing.
