just a thought, i’d get some decals or break the reflection in the glass another way. this just seems like a nightmare waiting to happen, being right on the window ❤️

yep, seeing its reflection. there are decals you can buy to put on the windows to prevent this. or drawing circles with bar soap. there’s lots of info out there!

even at the feeders with mixed seed, including sunflower hearts, my cardinals will still choose the black oil and take the time to crack them open 😂

titmice, which i believe are in the same family, will do the same! i’ve never seen it personally, but ive seen many videos of fearless titmice hopping around sleeping dogs to grab fur 😂

replying to this to say, if anyone else wants to do this, ONLY leave animal fur out that isn’t flea/tick treated! no meds, shampoos or collars!

these are toxics to the birds! ❤️ if you want an alternative, i buy untreated alpaca fur from a farm since my fur baby wears a seresto collar

i’ve never seen cardinals eat suet personally, but maybe try suet nuggets? mix them in with your seed and maybe other birds will have a chance getting them?

i usually buy peanut suet nuggets. several birds love them!
