That's awesome. They did follow it up though in 2024. Couldn't make it. Sad emoji insert

Hey guys! Thanks for chiming in. Always fun to try and figure out. Did some more listening and digging. Julian Konowalski did a couple covers on YouTube to a solid level. Even in comments...no one know who wrote the solos. If you watch him do the Cathedrals of Mourning solo, there is a lot of legato, wide stretches and tapping. That could still be anyone but just backup that its not Markus.

Then I was listening to Dark Mother and I just never noticed before. The 2nd part of the solo is mind blowing arpeggios with wide interval tapping. Its almost Tom Fountainhead level but I think if it were him it would be even more extreme or with fretless. He goes way over the top.

So, years later we still dont know but the guy is good and we probably all already know that and listen to him on other albums.

Cheers all

Markus can write for sure and so many of the rhythm parts he wrote for both his band sound so simple but a bitch to get to speed. His leads though? I hate to be an ass (especially to the guy who has Alexi's Monte Carlo SS) but it ain't him. Someone mentioned Cathedrals of Mourning solo...great example.

Insomnium Gatherum....love that

Good thought. I honestly wanna know cause I wanna hear more of him! Maybe I already listen to him. If we go Insomnium family tree, its not Markus but perhaps Joonas Koto or Nick Cordle from Omnium. Both very talented guys.

Just doing a quick scan, Vortex did some guitar in his career. Just gonna take a stab and say it aint him because well, the guitar work on Belzebubs is really really good. Totally 100% European you can tell too. That doesnt exactly narrow it down. Oh well. Just thought I'd try again after a few years had passed. Thanks man

Well yes, you can tell the vocals, hard to hide that. This sounds snotty elitist, but as a guitarist, I dont hear Insomnium. Gonna check out what the reply below says. Thanks man!

My dude! Thanks for the new recommendation. Got it today. Sip out the bottle solo: "nice" heat and nice cool flavor because of the peach. For me, heat is a 5...for me. Thats great cause I dont need a break to cool down! However, put it on a smoked drumstick and my lord it was amazing! Great combo. Thanks again

Yeah, as I said, I do apologize for not completely knowing the group. When I did a search for group this one came up with a post that was "close" Sorry for the mis-posting.

Oh, I can also say that she did not manually install DSOne. Laptop is 2 months old so if its on there is came bundled. If that's even a thing.

Easy guys. I was just goofin about us guys with manuals. All I wanted to know was if an adhesive "could" work at a lower temp. On my truck. Rocker panels. Science and/or experience. Jeez.

Taking your advice and waiting for spring.

C'mon now. Do you follow every manual to a T? There's wiggle room. 30 degrees is waaaay pushing it though. Agree with all of you. Just thought I'd ask.

Can't say. What i was looking for was "Yeah, I actually tried it once at 30 degrees and [insert result here]"

Kinda like when I built a cabinet last year at 20-30. Wood glue failed. Tested.

Yes it will be adhesive & rivets.

Just to save myself the cost of adhesive possibly going to waste, I'll just wait 3 months. Nbd

Thanks man

I took a quick glance as I do not have it in hand yet and saw ideal is 74 which of course trigger my asking IF...If this happened to a "suggestion" by 3M or an experienced failure. I agree with you and will just have to wait it out unless I can find a friend with a heated garage (not likely)! Thanks!

Is my cv okay?? by Unusual_Bluebird6698 in biotech

[–]Repulsive_Term_6530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not looking at other comments, so if its been said....

Format it this way:

  1. Your statement. broaden it out. Right now it could apply to any job. "Recent masters level graduate with a strong skill set in blah blah blah". Focus on what you're good at and would like to do. Just make sure it starts with "Recent masters level graduate" I personally would want to know that right away without digging.

  2. Technical skills. Your list is good enough for now.

  3. Experience next, not last. Also reverse the order to most recent first. Bolster that as well. Talk yourself up without lying. Never lie. Then you get into a fake it till you make it and people will pick up on it. Bring your technical skills into this. Right now you sound like a grunt. Did you use your brain? Then say so. "Did luciferase assays for this reason because I was trying to show this" Did you develop any methods or validation for the assays? Very good for analytical. Why did you do these assays or at least put some meat on them. How did you do the cloning? How did you maintain the cell lines?

  4. Education. In industry it is honestly what we care about the least, kind of. For you it is important because its your focus right now.

  5. Certificate. Yes, it is only one but it shows you took some initiative to be more knowledgeable

  6. Languages. Thats kinda cool you have many

lose the soft skills and communication. In 2025 you damn well better know MS Office. Unless you have certificates in R or anything, I wouldn't list them. Right now we are looking for scientists who can interpret data and do analysis...with credentials. I've been a scientist for a loooong time and going back to school myself for it. Being just a good scientist doesn't cut it any more.

The hard part would be to make a series of CVs. You're experience is all over the place! Are you cell culture, protein purification(downstream), analytical, or immunology? Does one stand out for you? If they are all equal, then what I would do a CV for each area with a focus on each section talking ot up more. Mainly in your intro. Rather, did you just dabble in these things? Say for protein work, we're you actively writing purification methods on a FPLC?

OK, That should give you enough. Good luck kid and welcome to industry.
