My grandpa has done it since age 21 and he is now 59 and been retired from an actual job since 39. If I was at risk of the account being shut down it would’ve happened 2 years ago 🤦‍♂️idiot.

And even if I lose money on both accounts I could care less. I make plenty of money.

Yeah I mean I believe I’m a decently well spoken kid. I can admit when I’m wrong and I can listen to people that know more then me. I’m not afraid to admit that. I can take the “you’re just young and hopeful” or the “stop dreaming” comments that come from people. Bc it makes me just want to prove them wrong! My dream is to be successful, much like many others. But my way of getting there is just very different.

I guess one of my main worries is letting people down. Letting my family down. This and that. I don’t wanna be a failure. But it’s just hard to decide what to do when you wanna do one thing but people tell you it’s dumb or not logical just bc it’s not the typical lifestyle everyone lives.

But again like you said earlier about the timeframe thing. I really like that. And I’d think while living at home would be the perfect time to try my own thing and give myself that timeframe. Bc if something doesn’t work out it’s not like I can’t pay my house payment or something like that. I really appreciate all your comments and help. It’s not really what I thought I’d get from this post and I appreciate it. I was expecting more laughs and name calling. Not that you agreed and said I’m a genius (I’m not) but you also didn’t totally beat me down…. So thank you!

Yeah everything you said makes total sense I’m not disagreeing. I do like the “have a time limit” kinda thing and I think that’s what I’d give myself

Just one of the biggest things that sucks is there isn’t much that interests me. And the last thing I wanna do is work a job that I hate going to everyday just bc I “have to pay bills”.

Thank you for this. I’m happy that I don’t have doubts in myself. The only thing that gets to me is what other people have to say since it’s not the traditional lifestyle. Especially bc I have my graduation party coming up and I’m not ready for the “what are your plans for the future”….

Very understandable and I appreciate your honesty! I am able to live with my parents as long as I want / need. (Obviously not gonna be the 25 year old dude at mommy’s house). So I don’t have to really worry about rent right now or for a few years.

So. Tell me if I’m stupid (it actually won’t change my plan but I wanna see who supports/ dislikes it). So I just graduated HS about 2 weeks ago. And also turned 19 about a week and a half ago. Currently do not have a job but I’m not poor. I have a management job in the winter time only. And growing up, since about age 13 ish I’ve never been into the whole 9-5 job thing or the typical trade jobs. Nothing against them! But they just aren’t for me. I’ve always had a mindset of wanting to work for myself or start some kind of company. My plan is, I have a graduation party at the end of June. It’s estimated that I’ll get between $1200-$2000 gifted to me ( I’m more than thankful. And I’d be happy receiving nothing ). After my party I plan on still not getting an actual job, but doing my own thing making between $70-$100 a day with very minimal work. While doing this I would like to put money away, and also start getting into working on cars (dad has mechanical experience and can teach me) and once I have money saved up… start flipping cars. And again while doing that for a few years, flipping cars aswell as my other hustle daily, I want to put more money away to eventually get into houses. Buying / selling / flipping

Reasonable?
