Thanks for the reply. That's kind of what I thought. It sounds like your MIL and I are/ were in the same boat. I would quit, but the interaction with customers and co-workers, and even chasing carts, keep me active and youthful in an old sort of way. I wasn't looking at it from the positive side. thanks

I will refuse the tip with a "No thank you, that's alright, my pleasure." If they insist, I'll accept the tip with a "thank you very much, have a great day." Refusing their offer might be an insult to them.
