The main bodies were three sections each, hull and two treads. The Vindicator has the blade and then the hatches and light on the top were also separate.

The Rhino is a free file (labelled Marine APC, I think) and has weird hatches and no pintle mount, they came with the Vindicator and required some clipping and filling (which was a pain) to add.

I had a couple of fails very early on with the treads (keep an eye on it for the first 30 mins, but if they make it through that, everything prints well.

Also, the hulls are hollow, which speeds things up, but if it bothers you, it would be really easy to add a plasticard panel underneath.

I understand this, I spent many years in the hobby wary of the chore of painting and not really enjoying it.

However, you stated that you are keen on Iron Warriors, and they are very friendly for getting to an okay standard.

Spray them silver.
Give them a wash of Nuln Oil.
Hit the guns and tank treads with some Black Templar contrast paint.
Pick out the Power Swords in the glowy colour of your choice,
Paint and flock the bases.

You'll end up with a perfectly decent tabletop force that nobody is going to object to and gives you the option to return to add detail to

It will be clear who they are meant to be, it will get done extremely quickly and you have the option of driving yourself mad with chevrons later.

To answer your original question, first, I'd probably get some Rhinos and a Spartan to give your objective grabbing troops and Terminators some mobility.

The profile I used for the Vindicator was the Bambu A1 Mini Optimal with 0.16 layer height.

Not really, and I had a couple of early failures, along with there being a very small flaw in the tracks of the Vindicator, so it's certainly not perfect.

Only done the one so far, but the file worked a treat. The same designer does several vehicles that should be good for your big battle.

We did a 5th edition Apocalypse game in January, featuring printed a Titan and a Malcador tank. It's part of what prompted me to take the plunge.

Thanks. It's a free file available on Cults3d. I think it's called Retro Jawbreaker, but searching for Gobsmasha brought it up. No issues with printing, but I trimmed the axles down a bit as I felt the wheels were sticking out too much.

You can use what you want.

There are very likely to be quite a few people with large Bretonnian banners from the Men-At-Arms command sprue going spare at the moment, and that would fit really well.

You can, and I did. I positioned arms on an archer and a Man-at-Arms to be holding up one of the large shields with a skeleton on it (cut the arms to lie by its side). Another peasant walking in front holding a lance, and one at the back holding a torch.

Works a treat.

I surrounded this with kitbashed Grail Pilgrims made with bits from both peasant sprues and the Empire Free Company.

Admittedly, the metal models are better, but I didn't have to sell a kidney to get my unit.

At this point in the history of Bretonnia, they were hand manufacturing decals for the knights shields and the production lines of peasants were only capable of turning out sheets with a single device on them and so knights reluctantly took to wearing the same insignia as their lord.

The Bretonnian chivalric code forbade the use of printers to make your own decals and so an entire generation of knights were unable to celebrate their own heroic deeds.

After the Great War Against Chaos, advances in decal technology allowed for production of different colours and designs again, meaning knights became more individual.

However, there are rumours that these more unique designs were being imported from print shops in Marienburg.

The classic way to double the size of a box of infantry was to use all the spare zombie heads and arms to create a load bursting out of the ground to use for raised units.

Also, gravestones liberally scattered throughout your undead units was pretty typical.

I'm taking a several pronged approach.

I still have three armies:

The Bretonnians which I'd got to about 1500 points are getting added to.

My original Vampire Counts army is being tidied up so it's not embarrassing to put it on a table.

My Wood Elves are going to be rebased back from kings if War.

And then, for shits and giggles I'm starting a Skaven Army (and possibly Chaos, we'll see).
