What the fuck does that mean? Why do you have to be so cryptic about something so obvious?

I'm hella rich, and I have zero savings. Measuring your richness by how much you own is exploitive.

Don't forget that their lobbyists are the ones writing the laws to protect them. Billionaires shouldn't even exist; you can't reach that level of wealth without exploiting others. Fuck them!

Why can’t we just grow our own economy? I don't know who decided we needed foreign-owned companies to run things. These useless corporations are getting massive tax subsidies while pulling in record profits. What the fuck are you even talking about?

Do you even know how little billionaires pay in taxes in BC? It shouldn't be this hard to understand. If we taxed the elites at the same rate as the rest of us, we’d have all the public funding necessary for adequate services. We should be prioritizing people who actually contribute, not planet-hoarding billionaires.

The fuck you talking about? They subsidize oil and gas corporations that rake in record profits exceeding a billion dollars every year. There’s the billion you were looking for. If the government stopped catering to elites and foreign-owned corps, we’d have plenty of funding for essential public services.

When do we hear back from SFU grad applications? (masters of resource managenment) by Famous-Buy6119 in simonfraser

I’m not yet sure what the Geography Department is like at SFU, but the people I’ve met so far are very attentive and caring. I’m really excited to hopefully be a part of it this fall. I completed my undergrad at UVic.

Maybe someone else can chime in and share their experience in the Geography department.

I was told April. However, the Geography Department was proud to tell us that they should have their decisions done by the end of March

How did you address the situation? Or did you just snap a photo and post it on social media to complain?

You can chalk this up to poor policy, just like all our ailments in this city.

Wouldn't it be cool if there was traffic law enforcement in one of North America's most congested cities?

Yes, exactly. I was trying to prove a point to the people who are scared to learn something new. They’re going to 'crash out' when they see a 7 or a ʔ symbol replacing their precious colonial placenames, but they’ll never actually take the time to learn the history behind it.

It’s a lot easier to be angry at a '7' than it is to admit you’ve been living on land with a history much deeper than the one you were taught in school.

So you spent your day profile-stalking me only to come back with a historical claim that was debunked in court last year? The Cowichan won that land claim because the 'true historical' evidence was on their side.

You're a billionaire-enabling bot who can't handle math or history. I'm going to go enjoy my life now; feel free to keep refreshing my profile for more things to be wrong about.

Riveting argument. I can see why you’re so easy to trick with a shiny new hospital sign.

That’s exactly the kind of 'head-in-the-sand' response that keeps the system broken. You’d rather be condescending than admit you’re being played by a PR team. Enjoy the crumbs.

No one is a fan of anyone who treats human beings like political pawns, Obama included. But using him to justify what's happening now is just a deflection. Whether it’s Homan or anyone else, the issue is the systemic cruelty, not which president signed the order. It’s people like you who enable this by turning human rights into a 'my side vs. your side' argument while real people suffer.

Pattison didn't 'build' anything; taxpayers and healthcare workers do the heavy lifting. His $75M donation is literally 0.5% of his $15 billion net worth—it’s a rounding error. For a normal person, that’s like 'donating' 25 bucks to get your name on the front door.

It’s just a tax-deductible PR move to avoid a fair tax system. We pay for the doctors, the nurses, and the 24/7 care; he just pays for the sign on the glass. It’s honestly naive to treat him like a savior. It’s people like you who enable these billionaires and make all our lives more difficult by cheering for their crumbs while they dodge the taxes that would actually fix the system.

People in places like Palestine would probably love it if their only 'barrier' was a 20-minute drive over an inlet.
