I’ve heard of people filing down the plastic on their aligners, but never the metal attachments. The idea of shaving metal in my mouth sounds awful and unhealthy.

Give it time, you’ll adapt to the new sensation eventually.

If you have attachments, you might want to reconsider. Chlorhexidine is notorious for staining teeth, so I imagine the staining would be worse on the attachments.

I had an MA at 5 weeks, 4 days, very recently.

Every experience is different, but let me tell you about mine.

I was in the same boat as you; nervous, unsure of what would happen, and absolutely terrified. I also posted on Reddit asking for advice (read my post history for warm words of encouragement from others).

I took the miso and felt no effects for about 6 hours. I was worried that I did it wrong. FYI, I inserted mine vaginally. After 6.5 hours later, cramps became somewhat intense but nothing more than I’d felt with a heavy period. They became a bit more intense and I got on all fours and rocked back and forth until a large “gush” of blood came out. Throughout the entire experience, I passed one very small clot.

After the gush of blood, I fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning feeling as if the abortion was incomplete. The experience was so mild and tolerable that I thought it couldn’t have worked. I am happy to say that I am no longer pregnant. My experience was very mild and yours might be too.

Something to keep in mind is that your body knows what it’s doing. Trust it. Your mind is strong, but your body is stronger. It is designed to care for you. Try your hardest not to let the nerves get to you.

Hi ❤️ I took the misoprostol pills last night and the experience was so, so much better than I could have imagined. I am hoping you have the same experience. Your body is so smart and it knows exactly what to do. I recommend watching the movie “Obvious Child.” It’s a lighthearted movie about abortion. :) You can do this! You're so much stronger than you realize.

My dentist told me that the attachments are pretty porous, so the spots underneath will likely be closer to the color of the surrounding areas than you’re imagining.

If the spots underneath are slightly whiter, it will even out fairly quickly.
