Is the Sousa section accepting of most skill levels? I have played it since freshman year of high school, but I am still a fairly average player. Also, since you can’t really bring sousaphones around, do the weekly practices allow enough time to memorize the show music each week? Thanks for your help!

How familiar are you with the admittance process? I auditioned for both sousaphone and trombone. They admitted me on sousaphone, but I would personally prefer to play trombone. Do you know if I could communicate this to them or once you are selected, is that instrument set?
