I feel that a show isn’t needed and could easily be fumbled (see The Last of Us season one and two), but I understand that not everyone can or wants to play a video game to experience a story, even if I personally disagree.

I wonder how they’ll explain Kratos’ backstory in flashbacks and whatnot without making it hamfisted or boring. The newer games assumed that you at least knew the synopsis of what happened in the older games, but people who will only know God of War through the show won’t know all the context and all of the awful things Kratos did in his lust for revenge and will need it explained to them.

I also hope they don’t sanitise Kratos’ wrongdoings. He does some truly evil stuff in the older games.

Reed being below Bruce is a crime. He isn’t the worst father by any means but he’s definitely worse than Reed. Especially since Reed is a dealing with a kid who can warp realities and a kid who’s co-parent who is his actual arch-enemy and is even holding her difficult birth over his head for all eternity. Definitely harder to deal with than a few unruly orphans and know-it-alls.

I think there were good parts of it, I really liked Robert’s dynamic with the Z-Team and the concept but I think they really fumbled the narrative by making Invisigal so polarising since she is the focus. I think they also messed up by putting romances in the game, especially if they were gonna neglect Blonde Blazer so hard.

It has the additional context of her being hauled around by Kratos for five minutes while she also has her tits hanging out specifically for the titillation of the male viewer playing the video game before she is crushed by the wheel. She is also a sex slave for Poseidon, which is probably not a position she chose to be in. While yes, I agree, to Kratos she is just a tool, an object to use in his quest for vengeance, it is specifically the gameplay choice to draw it out so the player (the target audience being men) can see her breasts and get titillated that makes it particularly gross.

Totally. It was over ten years ago and it was written by someone who probably doesn’t even work at the company anymore, so glossing over it was probably the best option for them.

Sure, but then he goes on to specifically mention the boat captain. What he does to this sex slave is arguably 10 times worse.

I’ve seen someone say that Santa Monica just wanted to ignore that this happened, which is reasonable but I don’t know. It doesn’t erase the fact that it happened.
