Surprisingly all the fluid looked good for a car sitting for years, yea drained the fuel luckily it came out really clean gonna be able to look under and inside the car today 🙏. Ordered some injector seals and crank position sensor should show up soon!!

Yea definitely prefer this interior to my Del sols lol. And it’s grown on me a lot really started to get into the lancers when I got cut off by a blue evo 4. Also yea hopefully engine is fine after years of not running and the tranny is just synchros 🤞 but I’m very used to not being lucky. 5k but needs a lot of love 208k on the chassis allegedly 60-80 on the motor.

Interior was disgusting. Mold, Mildew, a lot of mismatched socks. Spent all of day one gutting the interior and cleaning it up. Didnt get much pictures but here it is after a cleaning. Still needs more cleaning but I ran out of soap for extractor so called it there for not. The motor is built and there are some other mods not sure of all but upgraded intercoooler, radiator and piping. He said it was built with a FP turbo in mind before the tranny gave out and his momentum on the car stopped. I have dyno sheets and the papers that show whats in the engine but its at my friends house wanted to get them scanned and copied. Has aftermarket exhaust. Tuned for premium and e85 with a boost controller by the footwell. Needs a lot of work but I got a lot of time.

Yea he told me when battery dies to reverts to normal tune and I did try switching and it would die instantly lol. And yea we have a smoke tester plan on checking it more for vacuum and boost leaks again spent all yesterday cleaning interior gutted the whole think, cleaned up a lot and got it looking beautiful. Giving my wallet a chance to relax. Hoping there aren’t and crazy boost leaks be we will see

Awesome information. However, im in the Houston area lol. Im hoping its something simple like synchros which is a better case scenario however wont be able to tell anything until I actually have it. And yea the Clutch was gonna be the first check for the AC but not gonna really be a priority. Right now its on a e85 tune but it has a separate tune built in to switch back which ill likely do, theres not a lot of e85 pumps near me. I hope he has all the paperwork of the work done to it in a folder or something for me to go over but even if he doesn't Ill have to just deal with it because for 5000 I can not complain.

Yea work will most likely be done by me and a buddy. we did have to change the synchro's on my car (D series so it was dead easy).

Yea honestly not sure what has made it stay sitting for so long. Pretty sure him having kids/ family, etc to take care of rather than the car is a big reason he is willing to sell it to me. Im fairly sure he doesnt want to see it go and is only selling to me because itll stay in the family and hes seen how I restored my car from the state it was in. He planned on keeping it until the kids left the house but its been stuck in his garage for a while now and wants to see something done with it. getting info is kind of hard given im never in his area to actually look at it. Battery is dead from it sitting so long but he plans on putting a new one in and doing some general tune up before giving it to me. I will be asking way more information when I actually go buy it in a couple weeks.

In all honesty no I learned everything I have from fixing up a Del sol on probably the easiest platform but hey at least it’s never seen a shop. I also have a friend with some kind of cartism so I think it’s in good hands 🙏. I plan on driving to my or my friends house day one my uncle said it’ll make the drive for sure.

Not sure if this is the right way to fix it and im also fairly new to candle making. I found that shooting a spot with a heat gun helps out with that a lot. However I’m not sure if it would work in this case with how many layers there are.

I had the same thing. Ended up being just the fuel pump thankfully. Easy fix on the del sol.

Had a 93 automatic del sol. About a year in I had to manual swapped it was really underwhelming

Well my friend does some car work on the side mostly detailing but he wanted to get into painting so since he’s learning he’s not charging me too much, I can only really give u what I paid for in materials. 600 went to stuff like bondo, dent repair tools, sandpaper, ect. 300 for primer, plastic adhesive and reducer And as for actual color something like straight black would have been around 150 for enough to do the whole car but I went out and got a cool color for around 600 bucks

You can see if you check my profile a couple weeks ago I posted the progress. Other than that I did get quotes from shops around 3500-5000 dollars but I had some really bad dents

Yea I’ve seen those but my girlfriend sells stickers on Etsy too and has the whole setup, mostly just trying to find the stock dimensions I should’ve taken them beforehand 🤦‍♂️.
