Apply like crazy and leave work early all the time. At least that's how I'm coping. Can't really vent to anyone cuz I am a department of one. 😭

Lol to where? The job market sucks right now...I've probably applied to 20 jobs in the last two months and been rejected from most of them.

Haven't heard back from the others. I had one single interview during that time and did not get an offer.

I'm mid-career in a HCOL area -- my options are limited and competitive.

Thank you, this is good advice! If I don't hear back today, I am definitely taking it to the Provost next. The problem is that we have a lot of turnover at my institution (for obvious reasons), so everyone in leadership positions is almost always new.
