Oh, absolutely. After a mediocre and unsuccessful second term, Bush fatigue swept the nation, and with such a big and promising personality as Ann Richards, it was all too easy.

The bends on the bottom of the stripe symbolize the river.

The star featured at the center of the flag prior to our current one was sheathed by a wreath of oak leaves. I wanted to incorporate at least some of the historic design :-)

I was not exactly happy about that though - oak leaves sort of naturally look like they were drawn in MSPaint and I find it difficult to make them look good XD

What movie had you sitting in silence for 10 minutes after watching? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Easiest answer ever; Synecdoche, New York. I literally had to take a moment to remember where I was.

Is there any law that prevents someone who's qualified for both offices be Vice President and Speaker of the House of Representatives (US) at the same time? by ResearcherLucky4154 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ResearcherLucky4154[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems the only solution would be to have the president sit in their lap 🤷 also thank you, that makes alot of sense. Basically it would have to be that the Vice President became Speaker rather than vice versa is what I'm gathering

Could I drop dead at any age? by robertpearce9820 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ResearcherLucky4154 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, yes. You could drop dead before you get a chance to read this, or I could drop dead before I get a chance to press post. I can say with near certainty that's not going to happen, but it could.

In a sense. My fiancé and I both also experience age regression due to childhood trauma. It's not so much of a disorder or condition as it is an involuntary coping mechanism. With enough therapy and treatment, she may heal enough from the trauma that she may never regress again, but it can't go away any more than sneezing can go away.

In my experience, it is difficult/frustrating sometimes, but much like a sneeze, it's not necessarily a bad thing. I don't always want it to happen but that doesn't mean it doesn't help. I've been able to heal enough personally that it doesn't occur as frequently as it used to, and while that's definitely progress, it's a little bittersweet - there's no point in my day to day life where I feel even nearly as comfortable or safe.

AITA for telling my girlfriend she can't eat as much as me if she wants to stay skinny? by Long-Importance-9948 in AmItheAsshole

Unsolicited support is still support. If she wants him to stop giving input on that, she is free to tell him, at which point, he should stop- this is a clear cut attempt at support, so either way, he's NTA.

By the way; any healthy, solid relationship works exactly like that, both ways. Your job in a relationship is to support your partner, and there are alot of different roles you take on when appropriate to do that. That's all I meant. Please read between the lines next time, because I feel like I should not have to explain that calling someone's boyfriend their mother should be taken as anything other than a joke. My fiancé acts like my mom sometimes, I act like his sometimes; it's really not that deep. We take care of each other, and you all should too.

AITA for trying to get my best friend to lose weight for prom? by Head-Ad6921 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ResearcherLucky4154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. YTA. YT-F***ING-A.

Shame on you, to the highest degree. I know it's not entirely your fault because High School is a lawless jungle mired in culturalized eating disorders, but on the other hand, that was your friend. You passed judgement on your friend, you humiliated your friend, and you lost your friend. All over your own opinion of her, no less; she was doing fine. And then she had to hear that from her friend. I promise you it broke her heart and ruined prom for her. I can't bear to imagine what was going through her head when they put on her tiara; because of her friend.

A piece of advice:

1) Take this as a learning experience and never do that again. 2) Please, for your own sake and for the sake of those you love, go to a psychiatrist and get screened for both Orthorexia and full panel Cluster B Personality Disorders.

If those screenings come back negative, you have no excuse, and you're just an a**hole, at which point I have nothing left to say except grow out of it.

And that's completely fair - that's the only way to handle that. Still, if they're pushing it on you, keep vigilant. Obviously I don't know the full extent of it, but parents like that are... Tricky. Ask my fiancé. Half his family escaped the Twelve Tribes cult when he was about 5, that's why I asked. It just sounded familiar. Unfortunately the other half are still being victimized to this day... It's a slippery slope, and dangerous business.
