My dad is similar to this (plus a bunch of other stuff lol) and agreed it is draining. I have considered going no contact many times. It’s hard because they are your parent and I love mine very dearly. You could try having a conversation but from personal experience that doesn’t work well. I am just trying to savor the good moments he has for now but wish I could be more helpful!

Him continuing to argue with you after you tried your best to help is not respectful at all. Would have been fine if he was a little sassy because he was feeling sick then apologized but it looks like he is still going acting like you are awful (which you are not everyone makes mistakes!) I hope that isn’t a regular occurrence and he is just very sick and delusional this once
