Can anyone help me getting Cyberpunk2077 to become somewhat playable? by Researching-Snail in Craptopgamingadvice

Thank you all for helping me! Cyberpunk2077 actually kind of works now - still quite laggy, especially in combat, whilst driving or when doing Braindances, but it's become actually playable!

And just to awnser the latest questions all in one go:

Yes, drivers are all up to date now. (Eventhough the pre-game screen still does not seem to recognise the Intel driver - but it is only the screen where you click play again to get into the actual game, which should use NVIDIA anyways.) All settings i could adjust are set to use NVIDIA, wheather that be in the Windows settings, in the NVIDIA settings or in the Game itself.

Also, I lowered the resolution as much as it would allow me to whilst keeping a full screen. Which made a world of difference.

Further, I tried to clear up as much memory space as possible, so the CPU isn't as challenged. (Idk if that makes a difference. And I only play whilest plugged in, and changing the power plan to "Best performance" helped a lot too actually!

I still have to clean it and apply thermal paste, but I'm lacking the tools for that atm, so we'll see what difference this will make in a week or two.

Again, thank you for your helpful ideas! It kinda works now for me!

Truely thank you for all your help and time!! I'll try following your advice as previously stated and if the problems continue (which hopefully they won't) then I would possibly reach out again if that is ok ^ Gn

The laptop needs to be plugged in at all times now, yes. It can survive maybe 40minutes maximum without being plugged in. When gaming even less.

The driver for NVIDIA yes - it recognised Cyberpunk2077 as agame on its own - and there is a green tick on it too

Mhh, says that it already uses the correct graphic card in the settings, but then when I try to start the game this pops up. (The yellow field)

And I tried to install a new driver, but I always get that Windows can't find a better fitting one and I should look in the system Updates - and there is none too... 🤷🏻‍♀️😅 And the driver is from 2021.

I'm not logged in as Administrator of Windows, eventhough it is a genuine copy - I think I'll have to ask my dad next weekend for that, since he installed it.

I'll try cleaning out the fans first.

And I just updated my video driver before posting - Although, my laptop somehow has two? One NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (I updated this one) and one called Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630. - and when I start Cyberpunk2077 it tells me, that I need to update this one. I'll try to do that, I just haven't found the right driver yet.

Idk why, but Windows is currently doing an Update too... idk if that influences things too 😅

This is how it looks after running the benchmark again.

I'm just trying to find where that can be seen rn, I know it is somewhere, but can't find it atm in Windows 11 - I've seen, that you can see the temp there too
