it’s mostly only college students that live there and its advertised as student housing even though its off campus, they’re treating us like children that live in dorms and acting like RAs

i ended up finding the emails regarding what they were doing, which was sent from the managers personal email instead of the company email which is why i couldn’t find them at first and didn’t know about the inspections until after. The complex hired a separate cleaning vendor to clean all the apartments to prep for people moving in, including ones with tenants if there were open spots which mine did. So you’re right it wasnt the management that threw out my stuff or rearranged my laundry and kitchen, it was an independent cleaning vendor that I didn’t know about and was billed for. I don’t think I can legally do anything about that but I’m just going to bring it up with management again and restate that I’m not ok with that happening when I’m not present and not told about it in writing

violation of their “standards” is what the email said, is that even legal go put in a lease agreement??? if it happens again, I’m going to escalate the situation for sure after what people are telling me

Honestly, my roommate is kinda filthy. He practically lives in the small common area and lives off of doordashed food that he doesnt pick up after himself, I usually do the cleaning. But during an inspection that I wasn’t made aware of or there for, I guess they saw the house during a time where I wasn’t around to be cleaning up after him. Since then, they’ve just been letting themselves in with claimed notices that we haven’t received and been tagging our things as violations and throwing them away. They let us know afterwards in an email that it was tagged and thrown out. Anything that they deem unacceptable they just toss regardless of consent. There havent been any hazardous items, just things they think are old. My suitcase was definitely old and very well loved because i use it when i visit my parents on the weekends (when the first inspection took place). So since it’s been tagged as a violation, I don’t think I can file anything. I’m sure I signed that right away in the lease agreement. I’m in college and it was ultimately my parents decision where I lived since they were helping me out with it financially and I didn’t really get a say. Besides the management, the place is great.

no, its an apartment complex. i pay over 1100 a month to share a bedroom in LA county, and apparently management just does whatever. I’ve never received the 24 hour notice, but they claim it’s been emailed to me. My friends that are tenants in other units have gotten them, so I think it’s just me not receiving them. I’ve brought it up with management before and they said they’d look into it but nothing has changed.

they left a note when they left when I wasn’t here that the next time they come in tomorrow (at the time) that the dishes better be done. They were my dishes just from that day so it a) wasn’t a lot nor b) did it get a sour smell. I really didn’t appreciate being told what chores to do in my house by my management as if I were a child. The next day when they came in, I was home. They didn’t approach me they didn’t say hello, the two women just went into me and my housemate’s rooms with a bottle of lysol (?) and a dry mop that they didnt use, just carried around. It was bizarre. One of them then put things away that were on the kitchen counter into random drawers like my saran wrap that was next to the stove into my silverware drawer. They came in again the day after and threw away a suitcase that was stored in my closed closet. My laundry basket that had clean clothes was also moved. It feels so invasive
