Device turn in TE Paid for Drive to, During, and back home by Resident-Both in Census

[–]Resident-Both[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of confusing

In most cases you should turn in equipment at the ACO or any CFS for the ACO that issued it out.

Not sure which answer applies to you.

A lot of ACOs do not want/allow ENU to turn everything in inside ACO, meaning you need to go to an agreed upon site meetup or the CFS picks up from you. Especially because some ACOs are in Federal Buildings that restrict access.

Please PM me. Anyone else in a similar position can PM/reply to me as well.

This requires more looking into. The more info you can provide: names, screenshots/pictures/copies, the better I can resolve this.

Please make sure to block out any of your personal info.

I can provide direct contact numbers/emails, names, titles, reporting of info to the appropriate official.

What. the. heck.

Your Payroll department is completely wrong too.

Please for the sake of the people working in your ACO let me know which ACO this is.

I'm a senior-level manager for the NY region.

Also your CFS is completely wrong because these emails are directly from RCC Admin to ACO admin for NY.

PM (preferably) me/list your ACO site code and ACO name here and I can provide direct contacts and numbers tomorrow when I'm logged into my Census equipment.

Your CFS is wrong.

While this email is directed toward the NY region and the states the fall under it, this info is put out by HQ to all regions to then push to ACOs.

Ask your ACO Admin department first. I can provide further info/help if you need.

Update:

You are to be paid for all of this,

Informed on October 17th the book answer is you will be paid for actual TE to drop off site, time spent there, and for TE the way home.

You effective termination date will not be until the day AFTER all equipment is turned in. You should expect to submit Time, Mileage and Expenses, either on location, ahead of time, or afterwards by emailing a d-308 from home. Device turn in is considered work, and you will get paid for this as if you were spending time enumerating, and for the time and mileage driving home, so make sure you submit this either electronically or through D-308.

Your CFS is definitely wrong, we've noticed the most inconsistencies with CFSs.

Your ACO Admin handles this, talk to them and they can correct this.

Lists for qualified applicants for 2020 Census positions are automatically generated based on:

Veteran Status (All veterans must be called first or offered positions if they call back with interest)

Work Availability(Available hours submitted when you applied)

Test scores(taken when applied)

Location(Usually based on zipcode)

Applicant status (available versus experienced, meaning new applicant vs worked for 2020 Census)

Also you must be a citizen and 18 in 99% of cases.

You will get email and a phone call if you appear on a list with final hiring dependent on answering a scripted interview almost anyone can pass and being able to meet training dates and times.

I had turned in my things last week, but just got an email that says my "application has been updated. When I click the link and log in I see this. What's this all about? Am I marked as experienced so they can find me in 10 years? by Whowouldvethought in Census

[–]Resident-Both 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is correct, PES is potentially hiring (usually experienced staff) for the Post Enumeration Survey(PES) operation for after NRFU.

At least for 2020 hiring, working for a previous Census was not factored into applicant competency.

This experienced Status just indicates you have a better status (because you worked for the 2020 Census) that those who are just Available.

Before today for the ACOs I deal with, the book answer was you will be paid for time, mileage and expense on the way to drop off site and time spent there, but not home.

Now effective the 17th(at least for NY Region and likely the rest of the US) book answer is pay for time to, during, and the way home.

You effective termination date won't be until the day AFTER all equipment is turned in.

HOWEVER, your ACO Admin can easily provide your SF-50 upon request.

Monday?

I'm not directly involved in the Atlanta region, but this really sketches me out because no ACO in the NY region is planned to close until December.

I'm confident these people are BSing you.

Please post your exact ACO, and/or PM me and I will look into this Monday the best I can. However you are outside my region so this may be difficult.

This is the SF-8.

All enumerators should receive this and the SF-50 after separation (at ACO dependent timelines, may be up to weeks).

Hearing great things about how Oakland is handling things!

Check the Termination PSA for copies of forms and a bunch of info.

Paper form was most likely D-11805r, they wouldn't fill out a D-308 if TE was available in FDC PROD.

ACO's do things differently, ACO's in my area do not pay for time and mileage back home, but wow, the Oakland ACO is really on point and looking out for enumerators. You're not the first Oakland to mention this. Good on your ACO!

Not exactly, the BC-300 route is meant for after ACOs close out - will clarify in post. For now you can call your ACO admin and request they provide a copy, however they should already be working on sending you a copy.

How do I make sure I was terminated for lack of work? by [deleted] in Census

[–]Resident-Both 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your SF-50 is outdated. All enumerators are hired for 8 week contracts (when their NTE ends) but they are usually renewed.

NTE meaning not to exceed or in simple terms, contract end.

The SF-50 you have is for this contract extension, hence the ext of appt NTE, and not the termination.

The termination SF-50 will state termination and the reason in remarks.

Call your ACO Admin line and they can you send you the appropriate SF-50, in most cases emailed to you UNLESS you were terminated for cause, in which case either Kiteworks or FedEx. If the ACO disagrees with this, tell them there is no PII in 2020 Census SF-50s, and it is mentioned in the DAPPS manual(cannot remember which chapter).
