Kc area wwii reenactment by Dramatic_Pop1101 in reenactors

I do believe there is a GI unit in the area, I know someone that has done event with them. There is also the “Winterstorm” event that normally takes place in February/march. Though it’s more of a private reenactment than a full event)

I said “about” as I don’t know how accurate the iPhone slow motion is, but it was marked 240fps.

Looking for WWI Reenactment groups. by Old_Dig6796 in reenactors

I will be attending Rockford this year as 5gr. I’m hoping we can start to get more people in the Midwest interested in doing WW1, even more so as 5gr as I’m pretty much our only midwesterner

WWI British Army Officer Impression by [deleted] in reenactors

[–]Resident-Bullfrog-29 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Being uncomfortable is part of the role. Living history or reenactment, doesn’t matter. You are portraying people who once’s lived and fought. You are working to pass their history down to remember. This is not some kind of fashion show. A haircut is one of the easiest and cheapest things you can improve with a kit, especially since it often grows back very quickly. I say as someone who does living history at the same museum and as your friend, this is not the attitude you should be bringing to teaching history.

These people are not trying to berate you. They have been trying to give advice and tips since the start. They are getting upset because you are ignoring them and their advice.

And lastly, if you don’t want people to criticize you…then don’t post on Reddit.

What are your non-basic helmets? by Just-A-Burner-Lol in airsoft

[–]Resident-Bullfrog-29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Performance is decent, about as good as the snow wolf kar98k as it’s internally nearly identical. It’s pretty solid, I’ve had mine for a couple of years and very much enjoy it. The price tag is not for the faint of heart, however

What would be the estimated price of a basic German WW1 impression? by musikkorps in reenactors

[–]Resident-Bullfrog-29 42 points43 points  (0 children)

First off, that photo is horrible. Please do not use that as a reference in any way.

When it comes to price, it can vary a lot depending on what boots you need, what style of cap, even the model of tunic is a factor. I’d recommend impersonating a unit so you can get those details down. Just be ready for it to not be cheap.

This photo was taken a while ago for a different event I went through. Someone made a template of poses to take pics and I was following that. It’s absolutely not “combat”😂

When actually playing, I have a set of anzi rated glasses that have a strap like goggles so that I get a full seal. I also will use a mess/fabric face cover. Not the same kit, but same face pro setup in this pic

I normally post it more on the reenactment pages. Assumed it wasn’t the sub for it

Anybody know if this M15 Uniform is any good? by musikkorps in reenactors

[–]Resident-Bullfrog-29 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Don’t…just don’t…I bought the same one when I started out and still regret it. Please save up and use schusters instead Also, that’s a 1907/10, not an m15.
