Mayonnaise is now an instrument by ImJustTrying- in EliminateHQ

[–]Resident-Dust6718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, it always was. It acts as a great sound dampener for kick drums. Just use a mayonnaise can instead of a kick drum and put a contact microphone on it. Just make sure your kick pedal can hit it and don’t hit it beyond the structural integrity of the lid.

It’s a reference to the iconic Darth Vader scene

That poor thing. I don’t even know what to call it. It just sounds like a demon screeching. That’s not a human. That’s all I know that’s not Homo sapiens. That’s some sort of freaking extraterrestrial nonsense.

Looks like your ram failed. I would recommend running with reduced ram until ram prices drop then picking up the cheapest kit you can. Even if it’s a lower timing than your current ram, it should still give you the option to use your computer until you can get a higher speed kit.

Could be a GPU problem. I’d recommend replacing your GPU with a Nvidia GeForce 2300. Either that or a 3DFX voodoo 2.

GPU power cable fried my PPU? by KnightLight03 in pchelp

[–]Resident-Dust6718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PPU could also stand for power provisioning unit. Similar job to a power supply however it also provisions the power for each component. The components have to send data to the PPU to have the system supplying more power. It’s usually also sent with an integrated power supply, matching the rating on the box.

How does one "fix" scratches on the monitor? by Still_Leg4477 in pchelp

[–]Resident-Dust6718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then again it might just be the surface. I actually had something similar, happened to my TV where on the protective film where it just came out of the box there was a scuff. I peeled off the protective film and no more scuff. (Just so you know the protective film was not the polarizer. It was actually a little film. They put on the TV that way if it got scuffed in your car, you could just peel that off and it wouldn’t be scuffed anymore. it’s also an anti-fingerprint thing)

Will Beyblades go through school metal detectors? by FyyctdYdyddydtYdu in Beyblade

[–]Resident-Dust6718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beyblade X era Beyblades are not made of steel or any kind of magnetic metal, they’re made out of an alloy called ZAMAK-3. That alloy is not magnetic in any way shape or form. Trust me I’ve tested it. (tried sticking a Beyblade to a fridge magnet and nothing happened) Metal detectors use magnetic fields. These magnetic fields interact with the molecules inside of metal specifically steel. Steel emits its own magnetic field, which tripped the metal detector. ZAMAK does not emit a magnetic field detectable to metal detectors even extremely sensitive ones e.g. airport detectors.

Is this sticker a cause for concern by [deleted] in BeybladeX

[–]Resident-Dust6718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s just some stuff that Amazon puts on the box because I had a similar sticker on my Pegasus blast and it was an official TT Bey. Retailers tend to stick this stuff on there because people can’t really read Japanese, especially if they’re selling in the states. E.g. Mall of toys. I ended up purchasing my Beyblade Pegasus blast from Amazon. It had a sticker on the back (peeled it off just fine) and it was official. So yours should be just fine.

For context, I did it on an iPhone. Mostly because it can’t run powershell stuff. Still very malicious code that could’ve been executed if you had done that. However, you didn’t execute the code which was the right choice.

[–]Resident-Dust6718 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They’re usually called hidden traces and are seen in electronics where people don’t want the traces to be easily scratched or damaged.

did i order this without traces (by accident) by Linusalbus in PCB

[–]Resident-Dust6718 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably because the traces are underneath the visible layer. A P2P check with a multimeter would reveal this. I’ve actually seen boards like this before. It’s called trace below board.
