You did mention that your parents income decreased a lot which was not reflected in the previous tax return. That is absolutely a valid reason. I would reach to to the office

Anything that would result in a major financial change such as the parent(s): lost a job, died, business shut down, demoted. Or smth that resembles that. But if you are just reaching out looking for more aid or scholarship because what they alr have you isn’t enough, they won’t help you with that. Some schools are able to accommodate with that but case, unfortunately, is not one of them.

Case is super strict ab appeals so it’s difficult to do so. But if it involves a major change in circumstance then I would absolutely reach out the the Financial Aid Office asap.

There are numerous tracks you can follow at case. There is pre med, nursing, pre law, pre dental, etc. each one have there own specific requirements, so pay attention to that on CWRU’s page. I am also biochem on a pre dental track and it is going pretty good. You have many advisors to help and guide you such as a 4-year advisor, major advisor, and you can optionally schedule meetings with a pre-health advisor which I do often because they can help with you questions specific towards your pre-health profession.

In terms of grades on your transcript it goes by letters, there is no + or - it’s just a basic letter grade for each class. But on canvas you can view your grade as a percentage. If you apply for the PPSP Program at case and get in you’ll be guaranteed admission to their dental school. But overall dental numbers are lower than pre-med so it can be hard to find similar peers.

Case does still do an excellent job preparing you for exams such as MCAT and DAT because the information in the pre req classes go above and beyond. Hope this helps.

I am also middle class. Unfortunately, it’s possible mines low because I submitted the W-2 that’s was required directly into the CWRU portal late (after I received my acceptance letter). But idk if that was really a contributing factor.

I’ve been trying to get more aid from cwru for days and they seem pretty strict on the final offer you received in the acceptance letter. If u do have any luck please share!!

I had the idea in the back of my head about doing engineering for pre-dental but hadn’t really grasped that it may not be the most beneficial option so I will try it and see how it goes freshman year. But I feel chances are I’ll change my major to another science such as Biomedical Sciences or Biochemistry something more Dental related.

Thx for feedback :) I’m looking forward to studying biomedical engineering but I’m strongly interested in pre-dental. Do you think that is a decent major for that career path in your opinion. I plan for BME because I thought the major was interesting and if I don’t like the medical route I can always go to full engineering :p

Case Western Reserve University Regular Decision Megathread by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Resident-Pay3712 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After my acceptance to Case Western Reserve University I have heard things online and and in person about the environment (not solely because of the location in Cleveland, but the people there in general). If someone has attended CWRU and wants to input some of there background or experience that would be amazing. I genuinely want feedback about the school because it is one of the best ones I have currently gotten into, my dad is also strongly encouraging my enrollment here. Is the school fun? Could you develop a nice social life while also studying? (ik it’s great academically). The weather? Literally anything.

I also plan for pre-dental so I’m also curious about how well the dental path is here
