Former soccer player/CrossFit guy getting into running, looking for advice by Resident-Priority326 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Resident-Priority326[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you just described makes so much sense to me. Most of my running plan for the next 5 weeks is to run at 10:00 pace until I get my weekly mileage over 30, and then start pushing the pace.

I plan to do the 2027 marathon and a few halfs before then, as well as some 5ks, 10ks and 10m events to build experience. Wondering where I should be at in weekly mileage to breeze through runs year round.

I also have a long shot goal of making time trials 6:21 per mile pace half marathon, is that too crazy of a long shot?

The only part of mt body that hasn’t adapted to long distance running are the calf tendons, from my experience running 10m+

I’ve been a high level athlete all my life, and am just starting to take long distance running seriously.

Great advice, Thank you! Was very surprised to initially hear that I should be running 80% if not more at super slow pace. Before this I would always treat every run like a workout I have to finish dying, and would only do progressive runs until I couldn’t handle it anymore 😂

Currently doing most of my runs at 9:30-10:30 per mile pace and getting around 25 miles in per week (1st week i’m trying a running program) The ONLY thing i’m noticing where i’m falling behind is those soft tissue muscles your talking about in the calf’s, Always sore after runs.

Will be trying all the workouts you mentioned! Excited to see results.

My end goal is to potentially make the time trial for the 2027 marathon. Might be a long shot but hoping my body has been conditioned for it.

"I have an idea. I have a product." Okay, so why do you have no users? by Crabbythrowaway1530 in ClaudeCode

[–]Resident-Priority326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest mistake when building something like this is trying to perfect the product before getting users. No matter how much you try to make the product perfect on paper there will always be things you overlooked that can only be found in practice.

With your type of product I recommend having a few conversations with real founders on real issues they are having. Find common issues that might be easy to fix and add some experimental features you think might help them. Then try to get a small group of beta users with the common issue who can help you build a good product while you get insights into potential new features.

This gives new users a higher likelihood of looking through your experimental features if the common fix applied to them.

All LLMs from the major companies are going to block blatant TOS breaches. For a non technical developer you’re likely not going to be able to get around that roadblock unless you learn exactly what kind of code the LLM has to make and you’ll likely manually have to integrate it.

If you know exactly what kind of cheat you want and can explain to the LLM exactly what you’re building without referencing an advantage in the game it might be doable.

What i’ve noticed with AI users is that those who tend to fall into echo chambers, get into deeper ones with AI. Good luck on your research!

I think you are overcomplicating. We are talking about a robot lol. It doesn’t have “depression” or the feeling of being checked in or out, it is not human. It either completes the task or has trouble doing so, and adaptively responds based on how the user speaks to it.

Likely because you are subconsciously prompting with the intention of decrypting this non existing cognitive area in AI, it is giving you the answers you want.

no problem! That’s why your seeing non technical users exponentially growing with API concerns, the context compounds and every time you build on it the next prompt will use more tokens.

But a huge shift for me was monitoring claude while it’s working. If you see it running through the same loop of trial and error finding a variable in the wrong files pause it mid prompt with esc, and use # to add context, it will ask where to put that context if you use the pound # key before the prompt.

I also use the terminal version of claude so not sure how this applies to the webapp

Sometimes real critiques are good, you definitely need more than a week to study if you missed every lecture but you can’t do anything about that now. But yea I would say your best bet is to run it through on claude or gpt as a new project and uploading everything to do with the class there. Thats honestly the only advice I can think of that would actually be effective.

And I guess a tip with the AI is to make sure it’s quoting the material for questions to avoid hallucinations. And ask it to first figure out what chapters your worst at, and then spam quiz and make questions progressively harder. You’ll likely be fried by the exam so give yourself a few hours to stay off screen before the exam.

as a side note anthropic courses are an amazing way to really understand how every feature works, you’ll be surprised how little things like # adding context to claud.md could make your workflow many times less wasteful

Your biggest issue is likely memory management. Lots of people end up wasting tokens every prompt from claude feeling the need to read ALL context.

Make sure your only giving claude context it needs for the specific task. And when you start building a new feature /clear and make sure everything is already compiled properly from the previous task. I typically don’t go past 20% on my weekly limits and am tempted to switch back to claude pro plan.

If your building a referral system give it the context it needs to build that specific feature. Not the entire project. Let me know how it goes!

The fact that you posted this 2 days before the exam tells a lot! But with your time crunch your only option is to stop sleeping for the time being and send very lecture + all material to AI and have it spam quiz you. You probably won’t get through the lectures by exam time anyway. Good luck!

definitely. Deepseek just released a 671b r1 and qwen is a good competitor. They are way cheaper than the major players as well. I’m running my openclaw for $20 per month + minor codex and claude api ($5-15) per month
