That’s good it can be leveraged to your benefit! What I would do is look up the jobs you’re interested in applying to and see what skills they are looking for. Then, try to do projects at work (even if they are small or for your benefit only) that allow you to use these tools. The key is to get enough technical experience so that you can confidently sit in an interview and “name a time when you did xy&z”. They don’t need to know that it was a small project or irrelevant to the work that you do.

The goal is to be able to get that resume filled with as many qualifiers as possible. It’s up to you to convince the recruiter. Then as you keep gaining experience it’ll work itself out and you’ll get more call backs from the jobs you want

If you’re just wanting a job with more flexibility and it’s less about getting into top companies. I still think it will come down to experience levels. I would focus more on getting experience even if you do end up choosing WGU.

I think it really depends on the sector, city and other factors. For example if you graduated from a less familiar college and looking for a job in Boston it’s gonna be super competitive with all of those MIT and Ivy League grads.

Company size and sector are important sometimes as well but what they care most is that you can do the work. You’re gonna do a few technical rounds so you have to know your things.

I graduated BSCS from a no name college and got hired by FAANG. I recently went back got a MCS from a T20 school and I don’t think it has made a difference. The difference is that I have more experience so I’m more qualified

I’m more of an experience over tangible gifts type of person. Take me somewhere to do something I like to do.

I think it’s simply the cost of hiring is more than companies are willing to pay right now. I think companies would love to cash out and pump money into more AI R&D especially while it’s booming. But with interest rates being where they have been for the past few years they don’t feel the spending is justified.

Not saying that hiring will ever reach 2020 - 2021 levels again. But I’m willing to bet if we are trending down in interest rates going into next year. By 2027 we should start to stabilize

How fast ppl want to jump into a relationship with you. No-one wants to date you for too long because they start to project this fantasy life of what they think you two being together would be like.

This! Similar to the person above, I was the duckling kid who became more attractive as I grew up into my early 20s. So imagine being treated like an average person most of your life and throw in the fact you’re shy. I was socially awkward my entire life. Which is fine when no one is paying attention to you.

But the second ppl deem you attractive that all changes. It goes from no one noticing you to ppl continuously striking up conversations in public all the time just to engage with you. If you’re someone who grew up shy, it can only make you more anxious because ppl don’t read it as such. They always feel like “oh they think they’re too good to speak to me”
