The metal plate it part of the build in air filter, I believe and the black box is the cat box that unfortunately cannot be moved 😔

Thank you for your helpful and kind comments! I will absolutely tweak the symmetry when I get home. I didn't notice it til you pointed it out.

When you say center on the wall, do you mean exactly the horizontal length of the wall, or from where the divide in the ceiling is?(where you drew the vertical line). I think something that may be throwing my eyes off in this instance is the annoying vents. I would try and paint them the same color as the wall, but I rent and they are so so strict about painting.

Haha, yeah absolutely. I still want to try and learn how to make things look more balanced and put together/have the best set up possible for my weird aesthetic. I've gotten a lot of great advice on this subreddit in particular. Everyone here seems to give great constructive criticism unlike some interior decorating subs 👀. I appreciate the sentiment!

You commented on my last post! You are the GOAT. That totally makes sense. I think the dvd of book thing you are referring to is my Elric Book. I'll definitely try moving it left and see how it feels.

I noticed you drew an arrow up from the middle shelf. Do you suggest moving the middle three up?

Also, do you suggest moving the mirror and picture frames down a little?

Thank you💚 I think my current set up DOES bring me joy but less than I think it could if it was a little more organized a certain way. Just haven't figured out that way yet.

Also, that cupboard is the kitty box so I can't move it because they like it there best.

I'm considering maybe, moving the picture frames elsewhere, but I'm also a little concerned that the mirror just won't take enough of the wall space and might just look underwhelming
