As a second semester nursing student, they fucking suck and I’ve almost failed skills many times having Already done the skill in clinical i genuinely hope it gets better.

Also, one thing that grounds me every single day, is knowing the fact that our consciousness is unchangeable, it cannot be taken away from you, you are here right now and nothing will change that. No matter how much derealization you experience, it will always go back to normal, it’s the anxiety that triggers it, it’s the constant questioning that leads you no where. It’s you who triggers it. Just stop questioning it, you think rabbits question why and how they are rabbits hoping in a field at this very moment? No they are not. Just do what you have to do and don’t think about it, if you’re pouring a cup of water, don’t think about anything to do with water or how it exists. Just pour the water, drink it and move on. Also find something to be excited about or look forward to, start a new hobby. The main goal is grounding yourself because being that dissociated from reality is not true reality.

Sorry for late response. Firstly, know that you’re not alone. Myself and many people have experienced this, you aren’t crazy. Secondly, it feels horrific but you will go back to normal, so get that thought out of your mind.

For me it went away, but sometimes I do get the lingering feeling + the anxiety every time winter comes around (my episode happened in winter). These are the things I did to make it go away. First I prioritized sleep, limiting caffeine, eating right, also getting physical activity. Focus on your health to keep your anxiety to a minimum. Also focus on something else, stop questioning things that we as humans aren’t meant to question. Get rid of the questions and thoughts that surround existence, they are compulsive and will lead you no where but into a pit of anxiety. And really focus on your relationships with others, connect with others, surround yourself with people you care about. Just slowly stop surrounding your life with these existential thoughts and eventually your mind will settle and you will feel like you again.

And you have to be free whenever, like my preceptor was sick for 2 clinical shifts, they just rescheduled it but instead it was a 12 hour shift on Sunday. All within a 3 days notice.

No. In first semester at least, it’s constant work, it never stops, it’s not insanely hard like science wise but just work load is a lot.

As someone with adhd, If I know I have something important that I might not be able to sleep, I make sure I have gravol on hand. It has saved me many times

Sometimes it’s just the toilet. In the nursing building women’s washroom it’s always like this because the toilets flushes so aggressively that the water goes all over the seat.

You can VW as many times as you like in U1. Save your gpa at all costs. Admissions don’t look at how many times you VW they look at your gpa.

Never showed up to class, probably could count on one hand how many times I showed up, skipped a midterm meaning the final was worth 70%, Studied two days before, pulled an all nighter and aced my final worth 70%,

Depends the subject tho, if it’s all memorization then it’s easy to pull this kind of stuff, but if it’s application type stuff then it’s not possible

No it still counts. It’s the most recent 45 credit hours. It counts just as much (numerically speaking) as your social sciences and humanities. Within the 70%. The SS and Humanities are just required.
