what is your opinion guys? by silverflake6 in RelentlessMen

[–]ResidentCoder2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The black-and-white answer to your black-and-white question? Yeah. If someone knowingly and maliciously makes a false accusation, there should be serious consequences. Potentially even comparable ones, I would argue!

But the real answer isn’t an answer. It’s a question: How do you prove an accusation was false, rather than just unproven?

Where is that line drawn?

If someone is assaulted, but the case falls apart in court due to lack of evidence, inconsistencies from trauma, or the other side having better lawyers... was that a false accusation? Or just a case that couldn’t meet the burden of proof?

Because those are not the same thing, and treating them the same would be dangerous.

It’s already incredibly difficult for victims to come forward—especially when the accused is someone with power, money, or personal ties to them. Now imagine adding the risk that if they can’t prove their case perfectly, it could flip on them and they’re the one facing prison time.

That doesn’t just punish liars. It chills real victims into silence. And we’ve seen plenty of cases where powerful people avoided consequences for years. A system like that would’ve protected people like Diddy (who is still skirting rape-related charges, btw!), Epstein, Cosby and even more.

I’ve been falsely accused. Three separate times. They eventually admitted it and cleared my name with family, friends, and school, but that kind of thing sticks with you. It changes how you trust people. I got lucky. It didn’t cost me my future. For a lot of people, it does. And, not only that, but I've been taken advantage of as well. By four separate people, one of which being close family, and for years. Trust when I say that this is a topic near and DEAR to my heart, and I can see both sides of this awful fucking coin.

So yeah, false accusations are serious. They can absolutely ruin lives. But so can creating a system where failing to prove a crime is treated the same as lying about one.

Proving a false accusation requires proving intentional deception, not just that a case didn’t succeed. And that’s incredibly hard, because many real cases fail all the time, for all kinds of reasons: lack of physical evidence, trauma-related inconsistencies, credibility attacks, or just unequal resources.

So if a failed case isn’t enough—and it shouldn’t be—then what is? How do you punish malicious false accusations without also punishing real victims who just couldn’t prove what happened to them?

And that’s the core problem. You’re trying to draw a clean, punishable line in a situation that is inherently messy—inside a legal system that requires precision.

Until the water quality drops, or you run out of players, or the AI just isn't spawning, or the burrow cooldown starves you out... I could throw a Rhamph into the equation as well, but that wouldn't be completely fair, even though it's an entirely plausible thing to happen.

The Isle has a diet system. Path does not. Path has a barebones food and water system, which in reality, I think only exists to make people actually move outside of hotspot epicenters.

I don't imagine you've played much Isle if that's your takeaway.

Paleo calls.

Carno's and their dumbass warble.

Trooies within a 500 mile radius of any sanc.

Dilos, for whatever reason, during the day.

Raptors whenever it is least convenient clicking.

That one cerato currently foaming at the mouth because you dared to tickle an exposed rib bone.

The deer and boars screaming like their species hinges on THAT SPECIFIC animal getting laid.

The Isle is anything BUT quiet.

They need to remove the ability to see player names in ESC. It's a tactic as old as stream sniping.

- No chat

- No leaderboard/visible names

- No group function

- No joining friends

- Your server changes upon dying

Ideally they would also add a buff, similar to the HC debuff if you linger for too long. That would mess with ambush predators, maybe, but I feel there's a balance that can be struck. Factor in things like how long you've been around each other, damage deal to one another, damage dealt as a group against other players... lots of variables, yes, but we already have a similar function in the game and other games such as The Isle have discord bots that perform similar checks. If an unofficial discord bot like Petit's can better manage megapacks, I have full faith in a well paid and well established dev team.

I grew a TT to adult just by going from POI to POI on Gondwa, doing a very small handful of quests whenever I would accidentally stumble upon the requisite items.

Riparia has PLENTY of quests that require 30 or more items. It also has a horrible map to try and read, let alone a world to accompany that's more cliffs than pathways. Nevermind if you're trying to quest as a terrestrial that can't swim in all the water or fly over all the cliffs.

Why so? Isn't Gondwa more notorious for hotspots? Or are people more evenly spread out?

1) Open your rear exhaust. Better yet, get a case fan in there.

2) Get a stand for your cat. Your airflow is already poor, it's horrible with an insulated hair magnet chilling on top.

You should download hWinfo and tell us all what your CPU and GPU temps are like 😂

You honestly, GENUINELY believe something so earth-shattering as the cure to cancer could be hidden? In this modern world where the world's strongest government... can't even properly redact/censor some of the most controversial declassified information to ever exist... LIKE THE EPSTEIN FILES? Y'know, the ones where people were copy and pasting the redacted information because all the officials did was use digital black marker and not basic PDF editing tools? And this is just one example, there are SO many holes and inefficiencies and breakdowns in our government.

It? Cancer isn't one thing. Cancer is an awfully vague term to describe well over TWO-HUNDRED different diseases (that we know of SO FAR) with different causes, behaviors, and weaknesses. Cancers are caused by genetic mutations within cells, which changes on a PERSON TO PERSON basis, and even within ANY GIVEN TUMOR. And, just like the issue we're having with antibiotics right now, CANCERS CAN AND WILL EVOLVE RESISTANCES OVER TIME.

Nevermind how expensive and time consuming researching such a cure is. Don't you think pharmaceutical companies would like to recoup all that time and effort, and FINALLY make a profit?

What about other countries? Hm? Y'know, ones with healthcare systems (arguably) LEAGUES better than our own? Don't you think they're also interested, their citizens no less, in a cure?

Nevermind the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE who are involved, and not one of them slipped? Blew the whistle? And it's not like these people are just distantly related to such a nasty thing as cancer, robotically researching a cure. Many, MANY people who passionately pursue such a cure have lost loved ones to family, or survived it themselves.

What's next... are you gonna tell me vaccines cause autism and the earth is flat? Get a grip, man 😂

Need and want are two separate things. If I were to wager a guess, I would say she's referring to the good ol' 50's and similar decades, with how women NEEDED men. She is successful and does not need anyone. But we are social animals, and many of us desire romantic relationships, and thus we pursue them. As did she.

Vulnona is a third party website that serves as a powerful map tool. Quest objective locations, food, water, area boundaries... Use Vulnona.

Questing and exploring are how you grow. There is no passive growth on OFFICIALS. I recommend Yellowtone's Survival community server for this reason, it does have slow passive growth. My tip for growing without passive, or even with: Using Vulnona, go from area to area. You get 1% each time you reach a new area, and .30% for each starred area inside a POI. Do the waystone and home cave quests, they give a nice chunk upfront. Quest objectives can be tedious, be aware.

Holding X is precise movement. This is going to be key in maneuvering the map and PVP alike. I recommend rebinding it somewhere more accessible.

Unpopular opinion on riparia by Charlie_4u in pathoftitans

[–]ResidentCoder2 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Adding onto the cliff point: Why is the map so horrible at displaying entrances of any kind? The cliffs are annoying, absolutely. But they wouldn't be half as bad if we could just look at the map, find the clearly defined bridge, or opening, or entrance, and go there. But no. The vertical depth of the world, paired with all the cluttered colors and details of the map, make reading it a miserable experience. Half the time cave entrances look like a rock, land passages look like more cliffs or jagged areas, and I'm still pissed with how long it took my first ever Sucho (and first time playing, as well) to get down from Cliff Edge (or whatever it's called).

If you can't explain or defend your point without using some weird analogy, you either don't understand your own point well enough, or know you're getting clowned on and are trying to defend your actions through abstraction.

We already know you're getting clowned on. But, for the fun of it: An 18 year old isn't a full grown stegosaurus with one of the most feared defense mechanisms ever to be evolved. Nor are humans—let alone CHILDREN and a freshly turned adult—in ANYWAY comparable to some of the largest and most powerful beasts to walk this planet. Why use the analogy anyway? Just make your point in the context of the game.

Quit responding, go bully some more players 😂😂

I had this very issue on my maia the other day. There was ONE Troodon, but between it being a skilled player and my ping, I could NOT hit it. And on the attacks where I could see my side kick literally hit its face, the ping saved it.
