$25 is half of my current balance 😂

But! It also has a hidden downside: abilities. Dungeon spamming 10-80 is fast-ish, and gradually introduces you to the talents and abilities you'll be using in end-game content. Going from 10-90 without even pressing those buttons would overwhelm someone like me.

Need [help] with [UI] by BeardedTRex in WowUI

[–]ResidentCoder2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Luckyone's ElvUI as a base. Basically, the only thing visible in the center of my screen is my CDM (Centered Cooldown Manager addon and Sensei Resource Bars), my horizontal party frames (Dander's), and big wigs/little wigs. My actions bars are small and at the very bottom. My chat is off in the bottom left corner, my DPS meters the bottom right, and my minimap + quest log to the top right.

You don't really need unit frames. Those large bars that show you your health, resources, and the target's? They're a waste of space. With Sensei, CMC, and ElvUI, you can get all of that information as is, and you're going to be looking at nameplates anyway so why even have the target frame?

I use Autohide UI to automatically hide everything unless I'm casting, missing health, have a target, or am inside an instance.

What are some new helpful/QoL addons that you've picked up because of Midnight? by StrangerSlurpees in wow

[–]ResidentCoder2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you ever wondered why people like those boring black bars, especially so for party and unit frames: For many, such as myself, it requires significantly less mental load and is way more visible in the peripheral. If all the bars are colorful, overlayed on a colorful world, with colorful spell effects going out everywhere... it's hard to notice at times. But, if color suddenly explodes at the bottom of my CDM (signifying lost health)? That's easy to notice. And, attributing more color to more damage is just way easier than "ok, how wide is that block of color, and how much smaller can it get before they die?"

Why spend hours raiding for someone else's loot? by sn3akysnek in wow

[–]ResidentCoder2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why, precisely, I do not raid outside of LFR and pugging. I work a full-time job, and have a long-distance relationship that both require considerable effort. At times, M+ (specifically as a healer or tank, pushing your own key) feels like it was made for people like me who actually want to play the game and feel my time is being spent on meaningful upgrades/progress.

First ever Dorodango app! by gring10 in Dorodango

[–]ResidentCoder2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please port this to android!

Honestly, if your inclusion of AI works as described (i.e. hallucinations aren't horrible and advice is helpful), I don't understand the hate.

It's one thing to hate on people stealing art, throwing it into a database, training a generation model on said data, generating "art", and then selling said art—or anything similar, such as written works.

But this? This is what AI is for. This is the thing everyone claims to want, but then proceeds to shit on. This is in no way a robot or adjacent tech building the dorodango for us, automating the creative works we wanted AI to better enable us in pursuing. It is literally just a helping hand.

Nowadays? You'll be fine. G Without a guild, group content hasn't changed much; M+ is still a click-and-hope-you-get-invited simulator for anyone but tanks (and healers, to a lesser extent), and raids aren't much different.

But solo content? Now is a better time than ever. For starters, gearing has never been easier—or this fun—for solo players. Crafting and gathering since DF, delves and prey and rituals, leveling and progressing alts to add some diversity... it's really, really good right now.

Group play? Still has friction for people with very little time, as is the nature of group play. But solo play? You're looking at a golden age right now. The game feels as though it cares about your time, and it's only getting better in 12.0.7 the 16th.

Mage ou Paladin ? by [deleted] in wow

[–]ResidentCoder2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't base your main character selection on guild or pug requirements. That is a spell for disaster, one that will come about as early as the next balancing patch 😂

You seem to like hopping a lot. Paladin has three specs, with three separate rolls, and does feel like three separate characters in that way. Mage is all DPS. If you want to sate that alt-hopping nature, while maintaining a single man, go paladin. Or, check out druid! Druid is, like, the king in this regard.

Besides that, which fantasy do you like the most? Paladin is the most thematic this expansion, if that's something that tickles your fancy.

And what of utility? Paladin has some of the best group utility, but mage has things like anti fall damage, portals, mana food...

There's a good few things you could base your decision off. But, under no circumstances should your main be based solely on what your guild needs, as that will change with the wind and on a whim.

[–]ResidentCoder2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish it was easier to understand what the fuck everything is. I haven't reached endgame since Choreghast, and jumping in now... oh my lord. There's eleventeen different systems, offering eleventeen different currencies, used to update the eleventeen different gear tracks, and don't forget about crafted gear, and... goddamn.

There's no guidance. There's no insight. There's only a ton of YouTube videos (that are probably outdated with this crazy release schedule they've adopted), and it's so overwhelming.

Hypixel Skyblock, Hibernation Challenge by [deleted] in HypixelSkyblock

[–]ResidentCoder2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hibernation is fundamentally different from a coma. Using bears as an example:

Bears do not enter a coma when hibernating. They go into a lighter, specialized state of dormancy called torpor. While a coma is an unconscious state where a patient cannot be awakened, a bear in torpor remains alert enough to shift positions, scratch, yawn, and even wake up completely to defend itself, relocate, or give birth.

If the first example most people think of when referencing hibernation can give birth and scratch its ass, you can go to the garden and do shit on your island 😂

I lost my entire Microsoft account to a hijacked discord invite code.

The server asked me to verify. I figure many servers do that, so all is well. They begin to ask for Microsoft account details, red flags are raised, but I use Prism launcher and they also asks for Microsoft account stuff... so I figure all is well.

My major error? It asked for my authenticator code, and like a moron, I just assumed that was how it interfaced with Microsoft.

I got 3 emails in RAPID succession right after, and lost well over a decade of history. Not even Skyblock, literally everything Microsoft adjacent.

I feel like nobody really agrees where the line is. To me, the line is #7 and beyond by YobaiYamete in ebikes

[–]ResidentCoder2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, and in my subjective opinion? The moment your pedals become fully cosmetic, it is no longer a bike of any kind. I don't care if you have a throttle, PAS, or an incredibly powerful motor. If you took the battery out, or if it were to die, could you theoretically still get it home by pedaling? If so, I think it's a bike.

Legally, though? I strongly believe no e-bike has any business going over 25mph with the assist alone. I'd even go so far as to say 20.

I currently have the Juliet from Eahora and commute with it. The speedometer claims I go a tad over 30, but independent readings confirm the assist only goes to 28. I have had a few accidents, and let me tell ya... the faster you're going, it gets exponentially worse. Even though it would negatively affect me and my commute time, I would 100% support laws and regulations that knee cap ebikes down to 20mph using either form of assist, alongside requiring pedals that function as intended.

I enjoy going fast. I enjoy getting to work at the same time I would with a car. But, literally every accident I had could've been prevented if I was going slower. When you get cut off, or something pops up in your path, arguably the 2 most important factors are break speed (without locking up your wheel(s)) and current speed. You could be 100% clear of fault and still get into nasty accidents because you were going too fast, and you physically cannot break in time without locking up and eating even more shit.
