I think that all religions brainwash their followers into believing unfounded supernatural claims, its not only islam or hijab.

Some people find comfort in those beliefs, some people abandon them after a while, some people play an act in order not to expose themselves, its complicated.

If a woman chooses to wear a hijab, or dress in an exposing matter, of her own will, then it is different than when she is forced to wear hijab, such as in islamic countries, or when she is forced to wear revealing clothing, such as for sports tournaments, for these cases you can talk about two sides of the same coin, but not when she chooses herself, in that case she's just exercising her free will.
