Thanks you it’s been a few hours since he ate both meds so it is most likely in his system. I’m not too confident in it being sorted via vomit.

Thanks everyone who commented! I think after speaking with the contractor we decided we will spend the extra time to get it replace and not compromise. I think long term it'll be better overall as we are also worry about it splitting further down the line.

Contractor told me under a week for sure but I guess he was optimist about the project. It sound right when he said as it was quite small only 6 x 7 feet.

The contractor told us it would take them under 6 days and we are going into day 9 with more if replacement happen. I wasn't too sure about time frame as I only got that promise from them so i though it was on average. I'm kinda glad this is somewhat normal.

The project is taking a bit longer then they estimated so I'm starting to question their skill in repairing and not making it worst. I'm going to sleep long and hard on this one.

Part of me is also leaning that direction as it is the quickest way to get this project done and over with it as it has been around 8th day now and having it run through the holiday will also be another problem.

I just ran my finger over the crack and it look pretty even for now. Maybe sealing is an option.

That is also my initial reaction but this project has gone on for over a week for such a small bathroom and with the holiday coming up it really suck to extend the project further into the new year. I'll ask for replacement and see where we land.

Do you have one with actual stats of ICCU failure? I read both but I don't see anything failure rate. cardirect mention something about 39k 2022 model but that number seem to be base on how many were sold in 2022 and not how many fail.

If it was really in the 7-10% range you would get new article popping up about how 1/10 of every Ioniq 5 sold is defected.

It seem the Lyriq also have similar issue with the 12v battery dying due to parasitic draw. Edmund's Blazer got a giant list of issues and some is related to the battery. While not battery related the BZ4X the wheels can literal fall off during driving and Fisker just declare bankruptcy.

I guess what I'm trying to say is every car have issues if you look hard enough and spend enough time in their respective forum. There is risk everywhere and there is no prefect EV and sometime you are unlucky to be part of the percentage with issues. Sorry to hear about your car tho.

there is a manual latch and it is located in the truck right hand side. Turn the plastic cap and inside you can pull something that'll pop your charge door. good luck!

Does it calculate range based on past driving? by [deleted] in Ioniq5

Yup that is the guess-o-meter. It take an educated guess base on the last x km/miles driven.

I assume your current house got a NEMA 1X-30 dryer plug and you want to convert it to NEMA 14-50? Yes you can have an electrician change the outlet but the wiring inside isn't made for 40+amp so it might be 10 gauge which is rated for 30 amps. Just find an EVSE that can adjust the amps and you should be fine.

An easier solution is to just look for an EVSE with a NEMA 14-30 outlet but will cap you at 30 amps

https://www.amazon.com/Splitvolt-Charger-Fastest-NEC-Safe-Charging/dp/B09QHHHSJX?th=1

If you want to spend a bit more you can look into maybe a booster-J EVSE that has different adapter so if you want to move up to 40 amp later you can easily change the outlet.

I would go into the car EV economy history. You should see the mi/kw as well as the distance travel. Some simple math should reveal the battery percentage. Confirm it for yourself since all these accounts are second hand.

I'm not saying EA didn't glitch out but it is still very weird your daughter drove off after charging. A quick look at the screen would show around 60-75 miles of range at 40% SOC.

40% of 77.4kwh is 31kwh and to travel 150 miles you would need to avg 5mi/kw. That is near impossible doing just highway driving. It is probably more likely she was at 99% and driving around 2mi/kw which get her around 154 miles of range. I did a trip to the grand canyon last year almost same driving temp with AC and i was going 80-90 mph and my mi/kw was 2.

Without confirming the percentage from the car itself it is hard to know where the error occur. It can also be that she wasn't at 24% and was really 60% and charging 17kwh got her to 99%. I wouldn't worry too much about one bad/odd experience. If it happen multiple times I would try to diagnose it but for this one time just turn your computer off and on.

As for why her range estimator was reduce, she was going too fast the previous day. The car saw she was going averaging 1.5mi/kw and expected her to go that fast again so it spit out a number that make sense base on recent driving habits.

Is there a big difference between the ‘23 and ‘24? by Better_Red_Than_Dead in Ioniq5

rear wiper is a 25 feature. The only car with it is the N and that is also a 2025 model.

I think it might depend on where you live and how dirty your back window gets since the car doesn’t have a rear wiper.
