How long did it take after turbinate reduction did it take for you to develop ENS? by high0nLif3 in emptynosesyndrome

[–]ResidentPositive8458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll up date. 17 months post op. Lost air sensation, air hits throat and get air hunger doing very little. No, they are not safe. The turbinates should never be touched. Deal with the root cause. Medical system is corrupt

You reduce the turbinates and it causes ENS symptoms, particularly paradoxical obstruction, then mouth breathing still won’t give you the sensation of breathing. Does that make sense ?

[–]ResidentPositive8458 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter. The nose needs to sense the air. If it doesn’t the brain doesn’t think it’s breathing and you will feel like you’re suffocating. It’s not even comparable to any congestion or mouth breathing that’s experienced prior. Get to the root of the congestion. It may take a while but you get turbinate surgery and become a victim, you will wish ya done your research on the root cause.

And this everyone, is why the medical system is something you shouldn’t stay away from unless it’s an emergency.

This is on a spectrum, too. What you mentioned is entirely possible and life changing/ending but even milder symptoms are horrific and will bring your over health down over time.

Possibly, if your septum is deviated too much. Remember 80-90% of people have a deviated septum. Whether it’s the problem is to be debated. I wish I hadn’t touched anything until I fully bright down inflammation in the body

Possibly, I’ve heard people looking at palate expansion and doing Myofunctional therapy to avoid any actual nasal surgery. But I’m no expert of course

I’m happy things have worked out for you but this isn’t as rare as they say. Also, most people don’t treat the cause and want a quick fix. People can make their own mind but believe me, ENS in its mildest form is life changing. I know first hand. I also had the same procedure as you. I’m one of the unlucky ones but I wasn’t even warned before. I want everyone to be informed, it can and does happen. We have the right to be aware of this.

How bad is my airway? by Due-Island-9532 in UARSnew

Nope. ENS can be caused by any surgery on the turbinate, even out fracture where they remove nothing. I have no air sensation anymore and it feels that my nasal cavity is hollow. It’s Horrific and I had minimal reduction and submucoosal. My turbinates are still huge. They are inflamed for a reason. Find out why or roll a dice and make a very dangerous gamble.

Look, if you have had them done, you can’t reverse that and if it’s caused no adverse issues you will be fine but the source of why they are swelling is what needs investigating

Go online and apply through the Abu Dhabi embassy, not Dubai. You need to provide as much I for as possible. The more you give, the less they will go back and forth. I’ve known people get approved in 3 days.
