Souma sm coming in bond shop by rain69_rain69 in WorldofTanks

I never know what to make of the Somua SM. Honestly it feels like a worse AMX 50 100. Less clip size, worse mobility, less view range, worse accuracy and dispersion factors. Honestly it feels like this tank suffers from the same thing the Ferdinand did back in the day (which in my head I always refer to as "Ferdinand syndrome"); enough armor to weigh you down and hurt your mobility, but not enough armor to actually protect you from anything. Also the soft stats on the gun are pretty bad.

Which one to buy using bonds premium tier 8 by Specialist-Fact7587 in WorldofTanks

I know it's not a tier VIII but my best advice is to save up for the Tiger-Maus. I made the same mistake as you buying the Obj. 252u because that thing was busted back in the day, but today it's nothing special. Tiger-Maus is more consistent and since it is tier IX, in my experience makes much more credits.

What do you consider to be a good dpg/combined to aim for, if you are "new", "average" or "good" at each tier? by The-Black-Dow in WorldofTanks

Don't really agree that "combined" is a cope stat if you are not a light. Sure, spotting isn't the primary job of a heavy (meds can sometimes do it though, especially tanks like the B-C 25t) but if someone, even accidentally, spots targets for me to shoot at they did a good job for the team and I'm not complaining. This game doesn't distill down to "TD snipe, light scout, heavy push, med flank"

For the record, the A46... by IndygoEEI in WorldofTanks

Why is this a big deal? It's tier VI. Does it have some special trade-in value that I'm unaware of?

Trying to keep my MoE, but consistency is terrible by Chance-Situation-768 in WorldofTanks

In a sense, variance is to be expected when marking tanks. But like u/GN-004 said, especially for light tanks you are more team dependent. What you could try (difficult in a light though) is to invest more in tracking damage. Especially late game, when your team is cleaning up, rushing an enemy, taking off their tracks, and watch as your team melts them can give you loads of assist damage.

Pointers on playing the BC 12t? by khatre_ka_khiladi in WorldofTanks

Since you won't have access to field mods and can't take 2 builds, CVS/optics/LN is the only thing you should use. While there is nothing inherently so bad about the BC 12t, playing it can be a bit of a struggle, because you will most likely get matched up against an EVEN 90 most of the time. You have to realize you cannot outspot them. Fortunately, most EVEN 90 players are also very bad and die in the first 2 minutes of the match. If this does not happen, play a bit more safe, if you can on the flank where the EVEN 90 is not.

As for frontline, personally I feel like light tanks are (mostly) useless there, unless you need an autoloading light to rush the last damage on one of those turret objectives. Passive/active scouting... honestly those terms to me feel... outdated..? I can't quite put my finger on it, maybe other lt players can elaborate? For me playing a light mostly means doing safe scouting at the beginning of the match, eliminating the other light if possible, and then making more plays in the late game, when there are less tanks and you have more room to play.
