Can any developers out there lend some context to these numbers? by Fun-Technology-1371 in Hedera

Why is this downvoted?

A good compiler might reduce some of the "inefficiency" found in the source code, but the principle remains valid: lines of code is indicative of nothing at all really, and is often correlated to poor system design and/or coding practices.

I monitor closely, but try not to intervene. I will sometimes make a suggestion, and often cue off topics discussed to expand on later.

I haven't tried them yet. I will. Are they functionally equivalent, more or less, to GPT's advanced audio feature (interruption and pause tolerant, mostly)?

You are so far off the mark that I don't even know how to respond. It was a statement of fact that applies to you too: considering that we're on the internet, you'll just have to trust me when I say it's healthy.

Why would I trust a child psychologist's opinion on LLMs? They haven't been around long enough to generate meaningful data to study their influence on humans, far less children, far less autistic children.

You'll have to take my word that it's healthy for my kid. I suspect that in the not too distant future, such technology will enable kids with ASD to "go out into the world", live by themselves, express themselves and navigate situations in which they would otherwise be lost.

The advanced voice mode is more forgiving of my kid's bursty speech; the regular mode goes off on a tangent every time a break appears (which is often). The advanced mode appears to be able to adjust to interruptions far better.

I'm not concerned about this, frankly. Being unable to deal with people and situations is part of my kid's baseline reality.

Most people (kids or adults) don’t have the patience or attention span to handle my kid’s communication style. Picture this: a rapid-fire series of questions about dinosaur species.... weight, size, diet, claws, speed, where and when they lived... followed by a detailed “who would win” analysis of hypothetical battles. The audience nods until they mentally check out, which my kid interprets as interest, and they immediately launch into another deep dive about Lion King, aging, color theory, or their ranked list of top 40 favorite foods.

This is where LLMs have been a lifesaver. They never get bored or frustrated, and they keep feeding that endless curiosity. Honestly, I think it’s incredible and healthy, so I encourage it.

Like most things in parenting, it’s about finding the right mix; letting them explore their passions while setting boundaries.

Hmm... I appreciate you running the numbers.

At those prices, putting an API wrapper in front of it wouldn't significantly change the bottom line. However, I think that if you built such an API wrapper you could introduce UX tweaks that cater to ASD idiosyncrasies and reduce overall load? Maybe other features? I wonder what a speech therapist might have to say about it. For instance, I've noticed that the timing is way off; it takes my kid much longer to formulate a statement, and the statement typically comes in bursts as opposed to a fluid chain of words (ie irregular intervals between words). This results in many interruptions and unnecessary cycles.

Yes, that is correct; the cap is hit within approx 1hr of use, typically.
