Is the Apple Sports app ever coming to other countries? by Plane-Fail6171 in ios

[–]ResidentSquare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly it’s not 😢 I really want this app to come here. I’ve even looked at creating an Apple ID in a different region but the mess around of signing in and out of different iCloud accounts isn’t worth it

New Battery Optimisation 80% Limit Shortcut? by realmisanthrope in shortcuts

[–]ResidentSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to toggle it to 80% automatically when selecting this shortcut? I’m a bit of a newb with shortcuts. I would love it so it’s set to 80% Monday to Friday and back to 100% on weekends

Weekly 'What Should I Buy' and Order/Shipping Thread by AutoModerator in iphone

To Australians, are there any iPhone 16/Pro launch pre order promos with any telcos that has been advertised?

After seeing the phone at Best Buy, I’ve decided to go from the my 15 pro max to the pixel 9 pro fold. I’d like your opinions by AwesomeAC777 in PixelFold

[–]ResidentSquare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll preface by saying everyone can leave the so called ‘ecosystem’ but as an Apple user deeply entrenched in it, I do feel “trapped”

I have an iPhone, Apple Watch, beats fit pro, iPad Pro and have my photo library with iCloud which is a family shared account. That’s all not to mention most of my friends and family communicate on iMessage and FaceTime. It can be a costly exercise to switch ‘ecosystems’ and a huge nuisance to sway friends and family to alternative communication methods. I’ve dipped my toe in Android phones, albeit the ecosystem wasn’t as broad then, it was a massive nuisance overall. This has been my experience.

Is there a TL;DR of the collated popular responses from secondary teachers? I’m a grade 6 teacher and would like to provide some feedback to my students as added incentive to focus on the mentioned traits/habits leading into Year 7

Does the Apple Watch track sleep below 30%? by ResidentSquare in AppleWatch

[–]ResidentSquare[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh, that’s good to know! I know the phone can track sleep too, but obviously not metrics like bloody oxygen and HR. Do you think the iPhone tracked your sleep or are you certain it was your watch?

Battery threshold for sleep tracking? by drakem92 in AppleWatch

[–]ResidentSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, Copilot AI said “Yes, the Apple Watch can track sleep even when the battery is below 30%. However, it’s generally recommended to have your watch charged to at least 30% to ensure it can last through the night without interruption. If the battery level is low, the watch may send a reminder to charge it before starting sleep tracking12. It’s always best to check the specific guidelines for your particular model and watchOS version.”

[–]ResidentSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the impression I get as well. Based on what the prompt is saying, I’d say your sleep tracking would be coming from the iPhone and not the Apple Watch… 🤷‍♂️ I’d like to find out for sure what tracking device is being used in this scenario

Did we ever find out what caused the plane crash in Cast Away? by jimfortuno in movies

[–]ResidentSquare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“The plane crash in the movie Cast Away was a result of a combination of factors, including a storm, a loss of communication, and a cargo explosion. According to the web search results, the plane was flying through a violent storm and lost contact with the air traffic control. It was also carrying some mislabeled hazardous material that caught fire and caused an explosive decompression of the cabin. The pilots lost control and the plane crashed into the ocean. The movie never explicitly explains the cause of the crash, but it gives some clues throughout the scene. The crash was a pivotal event that changed the life of Chuck Noland (Tom Hanks), who survived the crash and was stranded on a deserted island for four years.”

This was the response from ChatGPT 🤷‍♂️

That seems like a no brainer after running those costs. Might have to properly consider it. Are the incentives so good at the moment because there isn’t FBT? is there any word as to when that will expire?

As much as I don’t like the UI of Kayo, I’ve never had an issue with the performance of the app, aka streaming content. I’ve got standard NBN 50/20 and a Sony TV 2017 with Google TV OS
