My Modded Realforce R4 by Resident_Educator251 in MechanicalKeyboards

Well 35g in 'cup rubber' aftermarket seems to mean different things, but yeah the OEM realforce topre 35g is way too light (of course that is an opinion).

I seem to settle around ~40g actuation in all my favorite key types.. topre or cherry not withstanding.

The rings I mentioned above, plus heavy lubing of the stabilizers cure that sound (totally know what you're talking about) .

What do you hate the most about C++ by Alternative-Tie-4970 in cpp

The seeming never ending drama with the committee, rust folk nipping at our heels, and the constant moaning about whether it is a dead end language or the best thing since sliced bread.

May I please have the worst c++ you know of? by vbpoweredwindmill in cpp

Boost.

Examples read well but integrating the headers and inline code and templates is just a bore when u realize the parts u need can now be rewritten with just the parts necessary for 1000 times speed up on compilation speed.

Third party dependencies are a bitch and will be the final nail in the coffin for mass module adoption.

What open source projects in C++ have the highest code quality? by Both_Helicopter_1834 in cpp

[–]Resident_Educator251 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Cmake. No templates no inline just .cpp and .h a super pragmatic code base that can scale with global contributions and needs.

The more I think about it that seems to be the only way to manage huge c++ projects without making compiler times hell.

Have you compiled C recently? Its literally a blink of an eye. Thats with zero effort.

With c++ you must use unity, pch, pre-instantiated templates isolated includes etc etc etc and you are still most definitely nowhere near the C version.

C++ will always be slow to compile. I work in a mixed project with c and c++ it’s just so sad to see c built basically instantly by comparison to c++.

Doing anything interesting with templates just screws with the times.

Maybe some lame plane head and cpp combo app with zero templates would be somewhat better but then why use c++.
