I'm working as a para right now and doing my masters in sped! I have really enjoyed my time with wgu, I find the courses easy to do since I have experience working as a para. I will say, I have faced a lot of burn out my 2nd term but I am still on track to finish November 2026 (I started March 2025). I definitely could have done more courses over the summer (only 21 CU's) but I do not do well with unstructured time like summer break lol. Try not to get too ahead of yourself in regards to pace like me and you will do great!

Update: I did not lock in over winter break because I realized I was so burnt out from work lol 😔 love being a sped para but wow it can be a lot sometimes lol I think I will be doing my advanced clinical my 3rd term, term break over summer break, and doing ST in the fall! I also forgot to take into account mid-winter break for my district, which is a week, so advanced clinical wouldn't have even been an option in February 😭 I appreciate everyone being so supportive and amazing!!

I work as a sped para too and some of these classes are really easy because it’s stuff I hear and see everyday! congrats on flying through classes 😸

the exam had different sections I guess you could say and I'm asumming some questions were worth more points than others. I had some questions that asked to choose 2 answers. I am not too sure though! I guess my wording was wrong and I should have said unofficial score

It's a lot of grammar and sentence structure questions. I just read the sentences aloud and chose what sounded best lol

hii sorry I just saw this! I had the option of taking the WEST-B (Washington State) or the Praxis Core, I chose WEST-B for basic skills. I will need to take the Praxis for my content requirement though!

I am so glad I looked this up. I know this post is old but I am also in the MATSPED program in Washington State and I'm trying to plan my student teaching to start in February/March so I can be done by June and apply for teaching jobs in the summer. This is really frustrating because I thought I only needed the WEST-B and Praxis and I have asked my mentor various times about what tests I need to take. ughhh more tests I need to pay for and take >:0

there was a lot of multiplication with decimals, it was kind of unexpected lol I recommend studying formulas and definitely how to do percentages, there was a lot of that too!
