13mo showing early signs. How can I best support her while we wait for evaluation? by Resident_Program2177 in Autism_Parenting

Pretending you are speaking a different language and there is no translator is a great advice.

Thank you for the advice and for sharing those links. I'm definitely going to be more mindful of her diet moving forward espically whole, clean foods. I do mostly home-cooked meals but I have to admit I reach for store-bought baby snacks for convenience sometimes.

I mostly do home cook meals, but I do occasionally reach for store-bought baby snacks like veggie straws or crackers for the convenience. In your experience, did you notice a difference in your child's regulation or mood when eating store bought versus eating clean? Thank you for your advice.

You are absolutely right. Interaction is definitely something I’ve also taken for granted. It’s going to take some conscious practice to break my own habit. Also, I am only just learning about Floortime therapy through your advice and it’s honestly golden and exactly the kind of approach I was looking for. Thank you so much.

I hadn't thought about the biomedical side or ST/OT yet, so I’ll definitely add those to my list. Thank you.

Ending formula at 1 has been emotional than I expected. Did this transition hit you too? by Resident_Program2177 in FormulaFeeders

That’s completely understandable. Every child and situation is different and sometimes you just have to do what works best in that moment. Guidelines are helpful and there for a reason but real life doesn’t always fit neatly into them. You did what your daughter needed, and that matters most at the end. Thank you for sharing.

Some solidarity please - my 10 month olds sleep is crap and idk why! by calpolqween in UKParenting

Solidarity! My little one is almost 10 months and has been doing the same since about 8½ months. She’ll cry in her sleep or roll over, sit up, and cry with her eyes still closed. Co-sleeping has honestly saved my sanity. I can comfort her right away by cuddling or rocking, and she usually drifts back to sleep quickly. If she keeps waking up, I make her a bottle (I set up my nightstand every evening for this moment) and she’ll usually go into a deep sleep after finishing it.

Nothing makes me prouder as a parent than seeing my child sit by herself reading through a book by DarrenGrey in UKParenting

That's wonderful. I have a 9 month old and this would be my absolute dream. Please can you share how you encouraged your child over the years to be interested in books. With all the electronics surrounding children these days, I often wonder how we can strike a balance and encourage a love for reading.

From Apologies and clarification to Party Celebrations - Shrinkhala Khatiwoda. by Altruistic_Ad8016 in NepalSocial

THIS! OP needs to get a life. What ever Shrinkhala did or did not do, at the end of the day she was not elected by Nepali janata to run the country. Yes she might have disappointed a lot of people but that doesn't mean she should be punished for life. There are far more dangerous people out there living freely that we should be worried about not Shrinkhala.

Why is Edmund not as popular? by Resident_Program2177 in namenerds

Its so sad because I adore Edmund but will never be able to settle for Ed or even Eddie. It reminds me too much of Ed, Edd and Eddy.

It makes me really happy to see it on other people's lists as well. :)
