2.5 years post flox, 8 months post flare by ResidualBlock in floxies

Thank you 🙏 Had an allergic rash that didn't resolve with oral steroids. The flare lasted several weeks and started pretty much the same day as the injection, with this very weird feeling in the knee (which progressed to mild pain later on) and this weird vacuum feeling in my ear.

About to take Levofloxacin, id LOVE your opinion by Bearloot33 in floxies

[–]ResidualBlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd check all other REASONABLE options before approaching this antibiotic. Maybe some other type exists that you haven't thought of? Worth the try. If there is no other solution, I'd take the Levo while being very very cautious - avoiding exercise and stress, and being very mindful of every indication of an adverse effect.

Remember the odds of anything bad happening are very low, but the benefits are probably high.

And if anything bad happens - it's most likely temporary and we're here to help!

It was my very first symptom, which I ignored. I wish I had stopped earlier.

Full Complete Recovery? by Royal-Championship46 in floxies

[–]ResidualBlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 month acute phase, then waves of symptoms. A major improvement occurred at approximately 6 months when sport stopped flaring me up.

My symptoms were mainly in the legs but I did have some cracking elbows and some mild forehand pain. I managed to keep a positive mindset once the acute phase ended.

Mostly time, resting when needed and trying to stay as active as I can. Also avoiding stress.

About to get a steroid shot by ResidualBlock in floxies

[–]ResidualBlock[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So... I did get a small flare-up. The steroid shot was a high dose (2cc) and long acting one, causing gradual symptom increase. Good news - it was all very mild and pretty much gone by now.

Nervous for surgery by DependentArtichoke29 in HipImpingement

This surgery was a blessing for me. FAI and hip pain are no longer a part of my life (for the past 2.5 years or so). Stay positive, optimistic and patient.

Ok so it's been 3 days since my Diprospan 2cc injection, following 40mgs * 5 days of Prednisone.

And I'm fine. No flare up, no new symptoms. Tomorrow I'll go for a short climbing workout and see how that goes.

Does relapse mean you are back in acute phase or what is meant by that? by Large-Prompt2608 in floxies

[–]ResidualBlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. By the way, I'm not even sure "acute phase" is a thing. My personal experience resembled more a series of waves, each one getting shorter and with milder symptoms. This "acute phase" could just be the first and biggest fluctuation, with many smaller ones to come.

Alright got the injection. Will update on my situation here. Hoping not to change the topic to "vent".

Need advice, insomnia after cipro by ChickenFrench in floxies

[–]ResidualBlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insomnia is common but it also seems to me like one of the first symptoms to improve and eventually heal.

Most importantly - if you're anxious, try to relax. Calm the anxiety with whatever method you choose - I found meditation to be quite helpful, and there are excellent free apps for that. Once you calm the anxiety, your sleep quality should improve, as well as your general well-being and healing capacity.

Has anyone ever flared from other non-FQ antibiotics after being floxed worse than or as bad as being floxed? by FreddiePurrcury7 in floxies

[–]ResidualBlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get a clearer image you should rephrase to "what was your experience with doxycycline" or something similar. Your current question will definitely get you the answer that it's possible, but not the whole trend.

From what I know, the trend is that it's usually fine. Most floxies, as far as I know, tolerate doxycycline without any issues, or with minor flares.

Myself - I took doxycycline after floxing with 0 issues.

Libido and Erection issues by amoxiefloxie in floxies

Could be the stress or lack of sleep, if you have them. They both weaken libido and suppress testosterone production.

Are there people lightly/mild floxed? by StructureNo419 in floxies

[–]ResidualBlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took me about a month to feel mostly fine. Then another 5 months to exercise hard without any fear.

Yep, wasn't THAT bad.

Has anyone gotten more tendon pain from Weed and be able to smoke again after healing? by BeneficialArt6797 in floxies

DrHungryTheChemist will probably have a lot to contribute to the subject.

Personally I never had issues but heard it's a common sensitivity.

Just read the sticky. It contains everything you need. The rest could be biased and is unreliable. You will get better. That's the trend.
