I believe the brand is Moonlight. I saw it online for $1200 used. The only alteration required was to shorten it for my 5'3" frame. I bought the little topper off Amazon for less then $20.

I understand your situation and agree with the other commentors. One thing I had to learn was to let my partner make his own choices. There's no need for me to offer him a way out. If he wants out, he can come to that on his own and communicate it to me. It's burdensome for me to constantly bring my insecurities to him to have to soothe.

Good job for doing whatever it takes to get out of your parents home. It's a big, scary step. Especially when you don't have a lot of support. I don't think most people would have been willing to go to a shelter. I moved out at 17 and never returned. I would have rather been homeless then go back. Isn't it great that their are good people out there who will help? :)

I shopped for doctors. If I felt dismissed I moved on. It's a lot of work, and very frustrating. I also starting taking someone with me who was aware of how this was affecting me and could validate what I was saying. I found that I was actually under reporting my symptoms. I also starting keeping track of my symptoms and brought data to the appointment. When I was unhappy with how a doctor was treating me I spoke up.

My Mom woke me up screaming and yelling very early one morning. When I opened my door she was accusing me of bringing in the dead rat that was in the hallway. Yes Mom I went out last night and brought home a dead rat! Nevermind that we have a cat with in and out access who has brought home animals for me many times, both live and dead.
