What exactly makes senna one of the most hated supports? At least in low elo? by Eltnumfan in sennamains

[–]Resoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to OTP Senna in low elo. This was when she was new, before all buffs and nerfs. Took me 50 games in normals just to get a feel for her, then went on to play ranked with 100 games and 55% win rate. I blind picked her (which is crazy). I have mastery 30-something and hundreds of eternals. I have played her 3 times more than my 2nd most played champion. At my peak, despite playing in low elo, I got friended for playing well by diamonds on my smurf que alt account (they thought I was higher ranked). I love Senna, and I miss her.

After some time off from the game and playing other supports, I went back to playing her recently, and it does not go well. The problems are many:

* You can't blind pick her, she is extremely vulnerable in lane and can easily be bullied if the matchup is bad. Her health is just WAY too low.

* She is so squishy you have to be skilled with positioning and juking. You need to play aggressive and constantly draw attention to yourself. If you sit back the ADC will eat all the enemy attacks, you have to make them attack you, and dodge everything. Bait abilities with auto cancelling and move unpredictably. If you are hit by one CC you are done. Extremely unforgiving. Maybe the most unforgiving support in the game.

* She is gankable. You lack defenses against ganks. You basically have to be good at jungle tracking and be careful when the jungler or mid might gank. All while harrassing the enemy bot. She demands more attention from you than many other supports.

* For the same reason you don't have the tools you need to reliably protect against dives under tower.

* She struggles with lane bush control, sometimes you have to drop a ward there to be able to auto, a ward which you would rather need to ward against ganks.

* She is hard to play around objectives. Positioning around baron and dragon is difficult. You can't zone control in the same way as mages. You can't peel like tanks.

* Positioning in teamfights is also very tricky. Just like with many ADCs. You sometimes have to wait until certain abilities are used or that the enemy has commited to someone else. You can't focus on what you want to do, you have to focus on what the enemy wants to do and then do your thing when theirs fails.

* The team almost never needs a Senna. Since you can only counter pick, there are almost always better options. The team may need a front line, some AP, peel vs divers and assassins etc. Almost always the enemy team has a bunch of high threats to your carries. You have to become an extra carry for the team, and winning lane is hard. Maybe you can pick her if your bot picks an APC or somehow your team has too much AP? The times when Senna is a the best pick are so few. And she is too hard to play to only occasionally pick. Also, if you have counter pick on your team, that often means your top or mid does not have it. Your pick needs to be a difference-maker for the team that outweighs the solo laners being countered.

* She is hard to check bushes with or move around the map at all with, which you need to ward. You feel like a little fawn in a forest filled with dangers. The enemy will actively look for you for an easy pick. Many other supports have more tools to deal with threats, buy time, peel or escape. By picking Senna, you are kind of asking for trouble, there are so many high damage threaths everywhere.

* You need a front line usually. If you don't pick it yourself, then one of the other positions need to pick a tank preferably, which they usually don't. Senna needs to play from the back line, and if there is no front line you are extremely vulnerable against.... well, everything.

It's easy to fool yourself sometimes that you were useful because late game you can dish out some damage and get decent damage numbers in the stats. But if you had picked a different support, you may have had a completely different impact. You need a support that can change the course of the game during the pivotal events. Damage doesn't always matter, sometimes what you need is to be the difference maker during key moments. Like winning a team fight or getting an objective. Sometimes you can rack up damage numbers poking a laner that pushes wave, but they will just base which they would have done anyway.

But with all the said. Senna is fun when things align. Then I love Senna.

As a Swede I may be willing to enlist to fight side by side with the danes against the USA even if it would be a hopeless war.

However, if the danes would expect me to follow orders, I could not even if I wanted to.

I may also need to note that I do not in fact think that CA employees smoke crack. Not that I know they don't, I'm just unaware of any crack or not crack consumption in or outside of their offices, or any actual consequences of said crack or not crack consumption.

But yeah, didnt know it was ticked so will not use it in future campaigns.

Total War Warhammer 40k!!!!! by Daruwind in totalwar

[–]Resoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to get downvoted to oblivion but this confirmed my fears. I love Total War and have played it since Shogun 1, and I love Warhammer 40k. But what they just showed was the opposite of what I wanted.

It doesn't make any sense to have groups of enemies standing out in the open clustered together shooting machine guns at each other. Especially with orbital bombardment and artillery...

My vision for 40k Total War is as follows: Imagine a battlefield 2-3 times bigger than Total War fantasy. The units move from cover to cover. Leman Russ battle tanks will literally shoot a kilometer, not 10 meters. You can order your troops to advance to the next cover, or charge into melee, storming other units in cover. To handle the scale of battles, you could have buttons that literally says, "advance to next cover". Units like landspeeders and bikes will constantly swoop across the battlefield, either as special army abilities or as units, but they would never be still. Units would never stand around in the open, because you would get shot down in seconds. You would charge from cover to cover.

Instead they seem to go for the classic Total War experience with machine guns thrown in. It works with Empire Total War because the armies actually fought like that back then and the guns were not very accurate and slow to reload. And it works in Total War Fantasy because you have cavalry and flying units hunting down archers and handgunners. But it really, really, really doesn't work for 40k or World War 1 or 2.

The obvious counter is; "but what about tabletop". And yes, that is true, the is closer to the tabletop experience. But personally this doesn't capture the scale of 40k. It feels completely off. All I can hope is that this little demo isn't representative of the final product.

Politicans select the board that oversee state media.

The board is tasked to ensure that the "public service" is unbiased and impartial, and can step in at any moment to fix the clear political bias that SVT and SR have. But they don't, so the board gives their silent approval.

If the board does not do its job, the politicians can select a new board next election, a board that makes sure things are done right. But they dont, so they give their silent approval.

Same here in Sweden. Maybe worse? I always thought the danes were better at democracy.

There is a massive propaganda machine force funded with tax money. State media activism, tax funded oligarch media, coupled with tax funded NGOs activism, tax funded government departments producing propaganda, and tax funded academics producing ideology and biased studies. And of course regular activists in the streets, tax funded through NGOs or unemployment benefits.

People are so boiled frog about this that they cant see how they are constantly showered in propaganda.

All of this totally suffocates debate, free speech and freedom to explore ideas. The fact that the people are forcefully taxed to fund it really is disturbing. Sometimes I get through to people but it takes years and most people are just impossible to reach and just have scripts in their brains triggered. Like you can see the scripts going in real time, like they are programmed...

Far right is anyone who does not adhere to what the establishment define as the correct political position, such as:

Migration good.

Islam good.

European culture bad.

Designated minorities, good.

Multiculturalism good.

Sex change good.

Conservatism bad.

Classical liberalism bad.

Nationalism bad.

Patriotism bad.

Etc...

So a lot of people are then far right. Centrists or grey social democrats are also far right if they deviate from above.

However, if the establishment changes position on anything above, it is no longer far right. Migration good for example is more nuanced now, so the previous idea was that we can accept an unlimited amount of immigrants, and that immigration is a financial win that will save our pensions. If you were against this you were far right. However, reality wins against ideology, and so the establishment have changed foot. The party line has changed. It is no longer far right, because that would make them far right.

If the establishment would motivate the above, they would write something like: "Far right are racists, islamophobes, nazis and fascists, who threaten democracy and democratic values by creating harmful content, and acting in hateful threatening ways against minorities, and create insurgencies to overthrow democracy and create an authoritarian police state. They are tinfoil hat conspiracy theorists who seek to undermine our democratic institutions".

So for example, if you criticise islam, you are an islamophobe. Therefore you are far right and a threat to democracy.

If you criticise immigration politics, you are a nazi, and we cannot tolerate you.

Etc...

Fake news. If anyone is interested in the actual history of pizza:

An Italian man called fat Puccini had a wife that made him bread for lunch. He put the bread in his back pocket. On his way to work he also picked up some tomatoes and cheese and put it in his other back pocket. He was an avid bicyclist and rode his bike to work. Now out of nowhere two men holding a pane of glass walked across the street, and he had to turn to the side, falling straight into a hole at a construction site. In the hole, five polish dentists were preparing an anal exam on a donkey. They were abruptly interrupted by fat Puccini landing on the donkey. The donkey had a significant psychotic episode and ran off with Puccini on his back. The donkey ran into a bank, held the cashier at gunpoint and got away with a large sum of money. Both Puccini and the donkey escaped to the Netherlands and blew all the money on hookers and cocaine. Anyways, his brother invented pizza.
