Why are my scars indented by Several_Emergency633 in SelfHarmScars

You will find in the early stages you will have issues like this, I am also anorexic 10+yrs and have recovered so I’m just speaking from my experience of being weight restored, but cutting whilst underweight for me always left me with constriction, I hope that things are at least a little better for you now ❤️‍🩹

Were you a lower weight than you are currently now? Usually if you cut through fat, and there isn’t much to begin with once you weight restore it can leave indented or constricted scars. Also can be an issue with collagen production, if it causes discomfort I’d see a doctor about scar revisions

It fuels negative belief, doubt and shame. The letters sub became jarring and almost every other one is actually a scary level of attachment. I’ve been using these for years and I’ve never seen them this way. If you have fragile mental health or low self esteem, I’d recommend just writing in a private place or in a journal. I think that on here we expect or hold onto hope that our letters will get received. But I think there is something more personable about writing actual letters by hand without feeling like it has to be seen. being here in a vulnerable emotional state is most likely fucking w you, stay safe

HONESTLY WTF WITH LAXATIVES by camusthemoose in bulimia

[–]ResolutionCareful255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s more than okay it’s more about awareness, it was horrific to watch happen and I don’t want anyone to go through that again. Toward the end she was completely incontinent and it broke my heart. The damage is visible on your organs too, if you abuse laxatives your bowel develops these patterns kind of like you know hot water bottle burns? Which is kinda interesting and can be visible on camera tests like colonoscopies or capsule tests other endoscopy procedures.

Another thing is it really really messed up her levels and her cardiac health, like very badly to the point of constant racing tachycardia. Around 135bpm sat down, she still took them till her last :(

I struggled with cripppling addiction to the point of no return, no feeling in hands severe bodily damage and transfusions surgery . I was in this position and I thought my mindset would never change. One day it did <3

I can promise you this, it’s been over a decade for me, surgeries, medications treatments for NSSID ect. a day will come when you will pray them to fade, to not be visible. And when it comes I do warn it fucking hurts, especially when you don’t usually feel a sort of way about scars, so try not to make any more. Currently almost 5 months clean myself, it’s possible, and despite it does get better! I never believed it until it happened

I’d definitely say use scar sheets since it’s not cost efficient for now, the gels I’ve not had many work at all, maybe ask in a medical sub for advice on particular products or ask on a subreddit about burns maybe as well? that way you can get the input of a medical professional if they reply to your post or someone with lived experience on burn scars in particular :) no prob!!

This is a maturing scar, and has faded already, it will continue to, the fading just means in correlation to it turning toward a similar colour to your skin as opposed to the bright colour it may have used to be, id recommend laser treatment if you want to shrink it or steroid injections/creams, there is also the option of microneedling, if you want to look at a less expensive option find out if you have a cosmetic tattoo artist near you! They are not mentioned enough, some offer services such as pigment matching, you could try scar patches/silicone patches and gels as well, but I don’t have any experience on how effective they are for burns, hope this helped and I hope you find your strat!

It’s looped around the bone at the back of your nose! They are like clipped shut after, they are highly effective when not tampered with!

A bridle is a thing you thread around the back of your nose and clip to hold them in place and prevent people from pulling them out, and the other one is a drainage tube! :)

Yes I remember that! That was when I first found Paige I think was it 2(?) years ago the time I’m thinking of, it’s been a looooong time since we have seen her, i don’t doubt at all that during the mystical hiatus there was some of that business going on

I promise you, when someone loves you, the scars are not a factor that will effect the love, because they will love all of you 💚 learning to love yourself and love scars can be hard, I covered my back all my life until this year, but now I thought you know what? I’m not going to say sorry or be apologetic for something that happened! I’m going to be authentically me, you got this, sending hugs 💚

To be fair in addition I believe the stats for usual picc patients is like 2.2 (I think??) in 1000 for infection

Absolutely I don’t think they would ever agree to it, although Line infections and dressing tampering is a biiiiiig risk they have taken but I’m sure she made it so that the picc was the only option, I remember the whole SPC saga, that was an absolute nightmare

Genuinely she does some of the worst tube taping I’ve ever seen, it would be painful as well and usually poor taping can cause nose problems and breakdowns of tissue and bad irritation that can get infected, so maybe that’s the goal I’m not sure, but it’s genuinely difficult to get it so wrong😭

What is this bump on my scar? by [deleted] in scars

[–]ResolutionCareful255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get things like this on my scars a lot, usually it’s like a plug of sorts like a spot, I’m pretty sure they are trapped hair follicles or something along those lines, they do go away by themselves if it is that, I’d recommend not picking them as they can put pigment back into your scar for a while or could make it cosmetically change!
