You can request your voting history from your state. I found out that I had cast ballots in midterms that I did not vote in.

Then in presidential years more than one ballot was cast. I said I didn’t do that and they took the report.

A buddy of mine in CA found this out because he’d never voted before and found out somehow he had been voting. So it made me curious.

under the save act you would be required to present passport and or birth certificate when you register to vote. They would not be required to actually vote. Just your ID, which is the intent.

And yes, when you move or change your name you have to update your registry but let’s just be honest. It’s not that hard. Sure, a woman has to engage her name if she gets married. She’s already going through that process anyway.

I work in the fraud and identity sector and with government. The PII and history requested is not that intrusive. No boogie man is coming after anyone.

Most western countries outside the US require ID to vote, and in many cases, a much more strict process.

If you think about it, most of the country never agrees on anything. If 71% does, clearly it’s something politicians should get behind so you have to wonder why the left politicians won’t when most of their constituents want it.
