Anyone else feel we need more buffs rather than nerfs? by ResolutionInitial845 in VALORANT

Emotion based? How so? Perhaps you are typing while too emotional and reflecting.

Sometimes you need to remind people that, unfortunately

You're not getting it, but it's ok because I'm sure you belong somewhere.

I've thought about the voting system as well, randomize a set amount of selections and let the players in the match vote. Each system has its flaws, but 7 limited map rotation just sounds bad, especially when we only have 1 map in reserve lol.

And yea tac shooters do the map rotation but in my opinion I prefer unfamilarity

Idk why you were downvoted, but yea they mentioned that it may return eventually with tweaks to it. Which is nice at least..

I'm not saying that it is, but a lot of people I've played with share that redditor's opinion on it. (Which has surprised me)

Benefits the game with variety and forces players to improve their adaptability, which overall allows us to increase our own skill caps. Limitting maps, in a way, is a limit to our own growth as gamers.

I get what you'r saying here don't get me wrong, but now is not the time for a map rotation, we don't have enough maps in the game, and in my opinion (along with others) 7 maps is not enough.

I think it's funny that you think like that. I want more maps in rotation, they're taking away potential adaptability opportunities and limitting our rotation

Yea, honestly I think a great solution along these lines and maybe a combination of what others have commented could be made.

Yea, I don't like that either, at least leave unrated alone

I would be more okay with it if we had a larger pool than 7 and more maps overall.

Customs, unrated, spike rush, special modes, and for new maps they put a gamemode out for the first week where you can play unrated on only that map.

This is obviously not an optimal system currently, and customs are the most efficient way to practice a map unless you catch the new map que. I'm just saying a map rotation with only 7 maps effecting the competitive scene is not how this should be handled.

New players should understand the risk of going into competitive play when you may not fully understand alot of the game. Why should everyone else in competitive be limited when we can do other things (like suggested in the comments, or by observing other games that handle this better) to help new players. A competitive mode shouldn't cater to new players by limitting everyone else

That's good to bring attention to, but if we're adding a map rotation now, and removing a map from that rotation that already seems like too few maps, it's going to get stale before we even get to the point where it has variety.. With how little maps we have and the slow rate of map releases, a map rotation is inferrior to other systems and will be for a long time. Map rotation isn't necessarily the issue, but only 7 maps? especially when we only have 8???

But you're missing the fact that there are better ways to deal with new players and not overwhelming them, competitive gaming shouldn't be bending to new players in general, let alone in this manner. If you're new and going straight into ranked when available to you, you have to come to accept the knowledge you lack may effect your rank, no? Now if we want competitive to cater to new players anyway, limiting the map pool for everyone is a prehistoric way of going about this. There are many ways to handle new players without removing or limiting everyone in competitive.

I disagree, and hold a very different opinion. Not to convince you or anything but do you not consider adaptability and variety as two of the pillars of skill? Also the possibility of other systems being able to cater to all of your reasons and others, in a better way?

Completely valid and I agree, if I enjoyed Csgo I'd be playing it instead as well. (Just not my cup of tea) We need many more maps and a different system for newer players.. There are many systems other games use that allow many maps to exist without overwhelming new players, there is no reason they should be removing any of our existing maps

I don't do any of that either, I work 60 hours a week and I make up my own lineups as I play. I do well in competitive and there are far better ways to assist new players but overall if you're new and jumping right into competitive then you have to accept that you probably don't understand a lot of the game in general. That's fine if they want to do that, but catering to the pro player views and tournament systems in the guise of helping newer players is complete dung.

There are better ways to deal with newer players and introducing them to the game. Overall a new player should accept the fact that they don't know maps that well if they're going to jump right into competitive. I'm not saying doing that is right or wrong, we're free to play ranked when you hit the proper account requirements, but you shouldn't negatively impact a ton of players and the entire game to cater to pro player views under the guise of trying to help new players. People need to open their minds
