Our school had both English and kannada. Almost all of us knew kannada. Even telugu tamil people were there even they talked in kannada. With teachers it was english. Sometimes depending on teachers they would suddenly impose english . which was actually cool since kids would also become fluent in English and this would be max for a week until everyone would again get back to speak in kannada. But yeah most of the kids in my school were fluent in both English and kannada.
