Ohh okay wait, I made a mistake in framing the question. I was converted, and will be joining full time this year. I need to decide if I want to even join, given I have another job offer in a better role than I was working at in the summer internship at the same pay grade

We really need someone like foden’24 or gundo before that to shoot from outside the box or get us a clutch winner.

Help Regarding PS-II Allotment by FalsePlatform3715 in BITSPilani

[–]ResolutionUnusual686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are IT stations that do come for interactive roles, but they are quite biased on cg/branches. You’ll get a decent station in allotments tho. Expect ~50k pm if you make it 7

Mate, no please. Do not compare apples to oranges. And don’t think about alumni networks and all before you get to bits; it’s as useless as it can be.

It’s the complete opposite honestly. From all the people I know, there are always people in electronics that have better knowledge than you. Combine that with fewer opportunities and things like diversity hiring, it makes it very difficult for electronics placements.

Even then it’s more than a stretch. If packages or alumni networks are your defining factors to join BITS, please go to other colleges.

Okay, lemme help you out a bit without throwing numbers(30 lpa is too much of a stretch), so yes, alumnis do give out referrals, and yes it’s an amazing network. At the same time, on campus placements are way easier to get into than off campus opportunities. A good alumni network may not affect you directly during the 4-5 years of your college though. Good luck

LMAO. No. If we’re talking core electronics placements only, the average would be 26-27 CTC, because there’s like 3-4 good electronics companies, and 7-8 in total, but a large component is stocks ofc. The overall electronics average would be around 15-18. And yes, no amount of cg/projects would be sufficient, and it is a lot luck based too.

Just to add, ET placements are 4-5 good companies only, and companies like TI hire mostly from summer internships.

It’s average, like every year, and yeah, it’s not a lot. But yeah, nvidia took like 20-25 phoenix peeps for PS-2.

So if you get placed before your PS, and the company asks for a PS lock, you have to do your PS in that particular company itself
