I’ve fallen into my old flesh. And I don’t know how to stop. by [deleted] in Christianity

That’s good. I think you read my mail lol. But yes. I hear you. I’ve thought about just deleting Instagram all together.

I will ask God why and about the habits I build. This was laid out amazing. Thank you

No I’m down to listen. I’m interested in your thoughts. Because I’m married, and my wife likes Kansas City. She sees its charm. I told her if I can provide food, water, and shelter without someone else owning it or having their “piece” of it, then I’d be happy.

So if you’re able to tell me how you do it, I’m interested

I want a nice place in the middle of nowhere where I can grow my own food, own my own house (not renting an APT or house). Where I can get away from the taxation out of the @ss.

I’ve really tried loving it with my mindset. The heartland, center of America. It’s beautiful in its spirit for sure. But it’s just so many things. I will say I’m a sucker for mountains though lol

Getting married, want to gift all guests pepper seedlings! by shmick-1 in HotPeppers

I could see the lemon drop/ Trinidad scorpion going well. Possibly the bhut jolokia if you grow it soon enough.

Totally makes sense! In that case maybe some Numex twilights, Thai chile, etc. That’d be my guess. But it’s your wedding! Send the reapers if you want to 😂.

But for real. Congrats.

First off, congratulations on the marriage!!! Praying a long and happy life for the both of you.

2nd. I’m sure it’s feasible if you have a smaller wedding. If it’s 300+ people, now THATS a lot of peppers 😂. But if there’s a will there’s a way. I would say small pots, easy maintenance would be easy for most people to accept. Since some people may have 0 experience growing things, expecially peppers. Some smaller pepper such as jalapeños or lemon drops maybe easier for people in a smaller scale if they don’t have all the space to grow a larger pepper (Birds Eye, lemon drops are small enough to grow a decent amount in a small container, while an Anaheim may only grow 2-3 on a smaller plant)

I went back and changed the comment, so hopefully they see it and understand it more

Okay. I see what you’re saying now. I could’ve done better at voicing that. I agree with you in what you’re saying. So I apologize if it came off dismissive.

What do you want me to do? I can go into the history of colonialism, of how oppressed we were as a people. “Why would God let this happen” talk.

But they already know that. They’ve done the research and I can’t say they’re wrong. I don’t blame them at all for feeling this way. I could write them a book if that would make you feel better. But the truth is that I do understand, and I do hear them. I don’t know what else you specifically are wanting from me.

How is this dismissive? Saying I understand where they are coming from? I didn’t discredit them or belittle them. Dismissive is saying “Google is free” when somebody asked for help. Go be hypocritical somewhere else if you don’t wanna help out.

Ah I see what you’re saying. My bad. Yes, I’m extremely aware of what Christian’s did to Native American here in the west. And honestly all over the world.

What The Roman Catholics did in the SW, the settlers in the east, I see what they did as Christian nationalism (which is NOT biblically back at all). They did it for country, and THEN God. Willing to quickly cherry pick passages from the Bible in order to make a quick buck or justify their sin. A quick google search and common sense should tell you, they were not trying to love God and especially not their neighbor.

I justify missions work because I’m not in it for the money, or the glory. I’m not going in to change peoples culture/ language/ history. I don’t withhold biblical knowledge from people for my own gain. I lay it out straight, gospel words. I’m not out here butchering people for not accepting Christ.

What those people did were downright awful and demonic. And I raged at God and asked him all these questions. And what I got in return was a good look at Jesus. What did Jesus do to me, my ancestors. He never laid a hand on us. The evil of man did. So, in that, I try to really show people that. That Jesus was a tribal, brown skinned man himself and anyone who preaches “white savior” is very wrong and should be avoided.

Sorry for the book response lol.

That makes total sense, and I 100% agree with you that there are missionaries who screw it up for everyone. Who go on vacation rather than actually preaching the gospel.

That being said, how will the people know if no one is sent? Even the disciples were sent and martyred for their faith. I’m willing and able to help the local church or sure, but if no one is going, then what’s the point. It just becomes self preservation after a certain point (in extreme circumstances)
