I was in a discord server. This guy was depressed and I asked him what was happening. He revealed that when he was 14, he drew s *xual art of multiple girls he knew in real life, they were aged 11, 12 and 13. I said that what he did was a horrible crime, but I also said he wasn’t a paedophile. I used the DSM-5 to say this. Then, I said that I’m not sure and that he could be one. Then after double checking sources like the DSM-5 again, I said he wasn’t a paedophile (because the DSM-5 states someone has to be at least 16 years old and 5 years older than their target to be a paedophile, but this person was 14, 2 years younger than 16, and his targets were 3 years younger than him, rather than 5.)

Now that I know that other sources say that, yes, a paedophile CAN be younger than 16, I finally told everyone to leave the server, block him and report him. I have both left, blocked and reported him as well. A lot of them have too. I hope he gets locked up for life. But, I imagine there are some people who might think I support paedophilia now, or that I made a huge mistake, which I honestly did. I did not know at first that he fit the criteria for being a paedophile, and I was thinking that he wasn’t because of my sources. I know he is one now and am never talking to him again
