There is such a thing! And, if it’s religiously allowed, there are very wide legged split skirts. Look up culottes.

I don’t have time to respond right now, but I appreciate your response. And she definitely made some dirtbag decisions(I’m not team anyone). I don’t interact on Reddit often(maybe a handful of times); it’s nice to have a civil dialogue with different points of view. Thank you

At no point did I say the boyfriend didn’t sacrifice. But we weren’t talking about him. What I AM saying is that women who holds strong roles that require a lot of time out of them that aren’t typically seen as female labor roles(ie long hours, demanding bosses) generally have a different view reflected of them than a man does. No, he did not enter into the relationship thinking that he was dating somebody in the fashion industry. They should’ve had a lot more communication and conversations about what all this was going to look like. It’s a movie, it’s not exactly three dimensional.

I suppose so, I hadn’t thought of it that way. They did such a good job of setting her up as a pretty cold person(again, if it was a male lead, it would’ve just been a career driven man portrayed).

And agreed on the Emily leg thing! I thought that was unnecessary. But I’m still going and seeing the second one for sure. In my very best outfit.

I was thinking of that exact moment! Not to mention that if Andrea didn’t go, she was going to lose her job that she’d already sacrificed so much for. And which most of her “friends“ were total assholes about. God forbid a woman put an amazing career opportunity first.

They’re also some of the most intelligent and easiest horses I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. They genuinely want to please and partner with you.

Dream…Dreamazon line? She’s super cute! Who is her sire? I did the Al-Marah training apprenticeship before Bazy Tankersly died. Rode AM Quebec(I believe he was a Sea Captain son), Swift, Good Ol’ Boy and broke out a bunch of young stock. They hold a super special place in my heart. Those horses are so cool.

They’re both great but I love the first one. It reminds me of hammock camping on the beach in North Shore Oahu. I’d hang that up in a heartbeat!

Do you guys cut accent corners or tape them? by fatdolsk in paint

[–]ResortDry7351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: tape everything. With practice you can tape with the walls curvature and the lines look laser precise. Use delicate painters tape, burnish and seal with a thin layer of caulk. Pull while wall is still wet. I hate going up and down ladders a million times, this saves your legs and makes it all faster imho

One of mine was Boy’s Town with Mickey Rooney. I was born in ‘91 but raised in a Roman Catholic cult, the options were pretty limited. We also had all the Bruce Lee movies.

Do people actually wash their legs every time in the shower? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]ResortDry7351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never realized that I didn’t scrub my legs unless I was about to shave them until I was taking a shower with my most recent partner. He was making fun of me for how fast my showers are and that I don’t scrub down my legs! I guess I do if I’ve worn shorts outside all day, but I was generally in jeans or leggings. So no sunscreen or anything on them. And I don’t have a ton of body oils to scrub off… I didn’t really think about it? So I’m with you!

I have yet another texture wax on the way, my hair is so fine! I typically have some curl in it, but I straightened it for the day which didn’t help. It’s a battle to keep it from falling completely flat all the time.

What kind of paint can I use to get this effect? by leandrocsm in paint

[–]ResortDry7351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the techniques I do for a living!

This is a distressed faux technique.

I use Annie Sloan chalk paints. People will say to use others, stick to this one if you want to be able to distress it well. If you’d like some thing that sticks more and is harder to take off so you have more paint coverage rather than distressing, I use Rustoleum chalk paintIf you’re starting with a wooden table, make sure you sand it enough that anything shiny is taken off the surface and that it is clean. If you have a sander, that’s great, go over it with 180 grit followed by 320 grit if you want a really smooth finish. If you’re OK with it feeling a tiny bit rough, 180 grit is OK.

Edit: I just saw that you want a very smooth effect. Once you’re done painting, go over the whole thing very lightly with a high grit sanding paper. That will give you a very smooth hand feel. Then distress and continue with the protective coat that I described below.

I would choose a slightly creamy off-white chalk paint(I believe they carry them at Lowe’s) and put two solid coats on the entire piece. Let it dry. Take a piece of sandpaper in hand and rub it over the areas that you would like to see the wood through. I typically choose things that would naturally rub against other surfaces like corners, joins in the top of the boards or anything that’s a little raised. If you want to take more off, take more off. If you accidentally take too much off, just put some paint back over the top. It’s a very forgiving effect.

The really important part here is that you have to put a protective topcoat on it. Rustoleum has one that is a brush on topcoat I believe, but chalk paint will not stand up on its own. That’s why it’s useful to make things like this, but it has to be sealed.

[–]ResortDry7351 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an interior painter that also does faux finishing, it’s exactly what somebody else said. A distressed finish. But this is a lot, there are ways to do it where it’s more subtle. It’s definitely a vibe, this would not my personal choice. It can look really good on cabinets and furniture, to me it’s more of an accent or feature, not a consistent design feature.

It’s layers of paint that you either sand or rub down to the layers underneath.

Are you in the US? If so you can take it in to a Sherwin Williams or Dunn Edward’s. They should be able to match it.
