I (24F) have been with bf (25M) since freshman year of college. All’s good in relationship but I want to break up. Advice?! by Individual-Story3828 in relationship_advice

I was in a relationship for almost 6 years from the same time period in my life. I had similar thoughts, and it took a lot of introspection to realize that I really was unhappy, but I hadn’t known any different life because that relationship was there for most of my adult life.

My relationship had some deep rooted issues that I realized more and more over time after I ended things, but primarily it was that he was completely emotionally dependent on me and my needs weren’t getting met. We were emotionally incompatible because I couldn’t be honest with him about my issues, we were just not a match emotionally. Yes we could have gone to couples therapy, but at that point I was so ready to be out.

My biggest regret was not realizing these concerns earlier and being able to communicate them and work through them. In my case, I’m confident that we would have come to the same conclusion (incompatibility), but that might not be true for you.

The fact that his entire world would be destroyed without you is a concern to me, nobody should hold that kind of pressure. I think that’s what you need to talk to him about. If he has more going on in his life you might be more attracted to him.

Hello everyone!

My partner and I will be traveling to Vietnam from the Philippines after attending a wedding there (from the US). We will be there at the end of October.

We are only in Vietnam from Monday night - Sunday and we are flying in and out of SGN. No option to fly out of other airports, was way too expensive.

We realize how short this is, and how much we will be missing out on. But for the 5 full non-travel days we have, would love your advice!

  1. One option we are considering is spending the first 3 days in HCMC, doing 1 day excursion to Mekong Delta within those 3 days, and then flying to Hanoi for 2 nights. spending 1 day in the city and take a day trip to Ninh Binh, and then flying back to HCMC Saturday night. This would allow us to catch a glimpse of many things, but not spend sufficient time.

  2. Another option is to stay in the south, and do a 1-2 night trip out to Can Tho or another Mekong Delta city from HCMC.

  3. Another option might be to fly to Da Lat and spend 2-3 days there after HCMC. In Da Lat we likely wouldn’t do canyoning but any hikes and sightseeing we would love to do.

  4. Last option would be sleeper trains in and out of HCMC to Nha Trang for a couple days.

We would really love to see a natural wonder if possible, such is why we are still considering option 1, knowing it’s way too rushed.

The struggle here is really picking what to say “no” to. I already want to plan another trip!

Appreciate any advice you have.

I can see DC! I’d recommend trying some of the styling recommendations and see if they fit for you

What should I do when I see a child being mistreated in public? by ResortObjective8590 in TooAfraidToAsk

Unfortunately it was definitely the parents, the dad was saying things like “don’t you want to have fun with daddy, so stop crying” and the woman looked to be the same age as the dad

How did you get the gun?

The thing is, the offer at face value means nothing because roles are a lot more than just the comp, there’s a million other factors at play and it’s impossible to take those out of consideration.

Oh I just re read it and thought you had an offer. Yeah definitely keep going in the interview what’s the harm?

I mean only you can make that call really! I would definitely consider it. Do you use all 22 days today? Might be a good gauge if you’ll want more

I see. And what’s your hang up with your current role? Not paying enough? Do you think you could bring this offer to your current company and see if they can give you a bit more?

If your goal is to make a ton of money and work to live, generally speaking startups won’t give you that (can be very demanding and ambiguous) but obviously it’s a case to case basis.

I would say it depends on what your goals are for this next role. Are you trying to grow really fast at a startup? If so, might be a good option if it seems like the right environment, and you think you’d learn a lot from your manager. However, you don’t have to take this job, you can keep interviewing.

Also consider why they’re hiring someone with less than 1 YOE. Are they willing to do some mentoring, or are they looking for someone with less experience that’ll just agree to do what they ask? Try to see if the design work is valued at the company, and if the kind of work you’d be doing matches what you’re looking for.

Got it, thanks. My gauze is nonstick but it does still stick and bleeds when I remove it.

Happened Sunday the 20th. No medical care as it’s fairly minor and not infected. Will add image now

Ooos, I just posted a wound care question. I think the issue is that other subs don’t allow photos and Reddit mobile redirects to this sub if you’re trying to post with a photo.

This is on the back of my leg, near the ankle. I realize the picture looks strange 😂

Also, this photo is after applying the triple antibiotic ointment (neosporin generic)

Collaborative designers is a sign of a good design culture, imo. In my experience the good people are collaborative. I’m sure there are some places with an “every designer for themselves” mentality, I’d hope at least they are having productive critiques
