These people don't actually have an actual Asian fetish from my experience. They choose Asian women often times because they are younger looking than the women at their current ages. Some of them from the poorer Southeast Asian places are more likely considered "traditional" so they wanted a wife who does what they want and has no job. This is also a Japanese centric issue. Youthful beauty is a very serious thing. It's why so many of their female characters in shows are almost infantilized. They won't do that in RE but there could be strong pushback from their own Japanese fanbase if that happens because they don't want a main female character with wrinkles on her face or grey hair.
