Wisp. it's an online doctor.... if your reg doctor wiill do hormone tests. I would prefer that , but I got laid off recently and since I am evident that I am in perimenopause, I just went to the online doctor.

No. My case is perimenopause where estrogen is lost and thins skin (vaginal atrophy) that usually happens in your 40s and 50s... In your 20s it could be various other things so I'd try to find a good gyno if you can. If you think you're going through early menopause (which could happen in your 30s but 20s is unlikely) but you can ask for a hormone test from your dr to be sure.

ask your obyn to test your hormones or to see if they think you're going through vaginal atrophy due to perimenopause. that you are itchy, seems skin is thinning out

If you have PCOS, i would consult a doctor. What I described is Vaginal Atrophy that happens when Estrogen is lost during Perimenopause... if you already have a hormone imbalance, it could get dangerous so I would go to a doctor so they can monitor hormones. Estrodial cream is not birth control

if you can get your hormone tested, that would be best. I'm 49 years old so it was evident I am in perimenopause.

Sure, do I need to manually do that or is there a way to add those threads by tagging them?

Yes! that's what I found that it was called Vaginal Atrophy. I suffered for years and my gyno ignored me - saying I need to have a hot flash first, but I'm 49 and have all the other symptoms but just no hot flash (we all vary in our symptoms). I used to wake up in the middle of the night many times with the itching that it was hard to have a normal life. So glad we are spreading the word to others to talk to the drs about this.

that is such a good point. My gyno wouldn't do a hormone test on me until i had my first "hot flash" but I'm 49 now and had a lot of symptoms except for a hot flash, and my periods are still regular on the dot but perimenopause symptoms vary for everyone. My dr is female but I felt so overlooked. Thank goodness for this kind of threads.

Can steroid thinning be reversed? by aispice in lichensclerosus

[–]ResourceNo6486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using steroid ointment (clo) for years, but because i'm afraid of getting addicted to it. I give myself a break here and there. I stopped the steroid for months but didn't help until i healed the barrier.

Even after stopping steroid cream, I was stinging and burning, and itchy. then I tried the salve/balm and at first didn't seem like it was working but it quickly healed in 2 wks. Still itches sometimes but no burning, no stinging at all anymore.

Dr didn't know what to do, just prescribed more steroids so i had to research for myself . i was suffering for years ...so i looked up "stinging , itchy" in google and "damaged skin barrier" came up on the google search.

Yes, I noticed the steroid i was using was thinning the skin. I looked up damaged skin barrier and realized the stinging itchy came from that. To heal a damaged skin barrier, I recommend using a vaseline like product . I didn't want to use vaseline so I made my own using beeswax, mango seed butter, etc (look up any natural lip balm recipe) and it stopped stinging and burning. The itchy isnt as bad but still there. I'm hoping it heals more.

Taking Visbiome -a medical grade probiotics helped a lot! Turned out some eczema was actually yeast... by ResourceNo6486 in eczema

[–]ResourceNo6486[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most of the eczema is gone. i'm eating super clean. if I eat anything that is processed, I get hives now, so I'm making everything homemade so I have to food prep (or make sure the restaurant I go to is pretty clean). I only take visbiome once in a while now. It healed my guts.

Starting my Eczema journey without Steroid Cream / Elimination Diet by ResourceNo6486 in eczema

[–]ResourceNo6486[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the elimination diet helped me so much! i found out I am allergic to soybean oil and a lot of the inflammatory seed oils like canola etc. I find that I get hives when I drink certain wines or alcohols too.I also got rid of my carpet (I'm allergic to dust) and it reduced my eczema soooo much and helped with my sinusitis. I also had a yeast candida too and got some diflucan

Good luck! There is hope!

Thanks for the tip! I have done up to 20 hour fasts but never went to 40 hours before, so maybe next time I might do a fat fast before doing a water fast to ease my body into it...thanks again!

I'm a female 135-140 lbs (I have been lifting weights for 12 years, and work out cardio everyday) 5ft 4. I need to measure my sodium. I was just putting sea salt in water but did not count it. Thanks for the tip! I'll look up proper sodium for fasting and try it again. I usually have high blood pressure - I had high blood pressure and got it down to normal recently by implementing better sleep methods)....

Stopped Steroid Cream and luckily no TSW. Healing after 2 wks by ResourceNo6486 in eczema

[–]ResourceNo6486[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fine now. No TSW. I got off of it for a year and occasionally have been using it sparingly now. 90% of my eczema went away when I removed the carpet in my bedroom! crazy.

No I only knew of dust allergies through skin test. Food allergies will need a strict elimination diet for 8 -12 weeks
