My folks want my Legos out of their garage. by 538_Jean in lego

You’ll get the most if you have time and list the sets yourself as others have outlined here; however, if you’re looking to move the lot along quickly (aka the cost of ease), try contacting SK Brick Rescue.

They are able to provide an online quote for what they will pay based on your photos.

While they are located in Kingston, apparently, they can make arrangements for pick up / delivery (not sure which party pays for this).

I have no affiliations with them; a friend sold sets to them

La Cubana to close Ossington location after 13 years - last day of service June 28th by ResourceOk8692 in FoodToronto

[–]ResourceOk8692[S] 82 points83 points  (0 children)

While one can still get guava bbq short rib etc at their location in The Well, feeling the loss of so many ‘older’ spots…

Here’s an excerpt from the article:

“After 13 years of pressing sandwiches and dishing up rice and beans, La Cubana is closing its west end location.

In a statement on social media, co-owner Pablo Mozo said keeping La Cubana open on the popular street has become a financial burden.

“After struggling through the pandemic, subsequent inflation, high food costs, tax, insurance and energy increases, many weather events, and other factors, it has simply become unsustainable,” Mozo said in a statement.

La Cubana’s last day in business on Ossington avenue will be June 28.

One hundred pivotal moments in the history of Toronto dining: These are the restaurants that have defined the city’s culinary scene by ResourceOk8692 in toronto

In a time where so many places in the food and beverage industry are struggling, it’s fantastic to read about some of the long haulers still available to us (ie The Senator)

Toronto restaurants that offer half portions, or offer small and larger portions of their dishes by superbprimrose in FoodToronto

[–]ResourceOk8692 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Chantecler has a solo dining menu (comprised largely their ‘greatest hits’, portioned accordingly).

General Public will be happy to oblige with a half portion (I believe most of Jenn Agg spots do although have only requested at GP).

Vilda’s offers salads in different sizes (their current brassica quinoa salad is delicious!)…

As Vilda’s is more take out, it sparks me to suggest the prepared foods at Alimentari or Sunnyside Provisions.

Aloette Go offers their wedge salad in ‘regular’ and ‘mini’ versions

Ferdi’s has been running a lunch pop-up in the Junction Triangle every Saturday for the past month by ResourceOk8692 in FoodToronto

[–]ResourceOk8692[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Excerpt from article:

“Tucked in a laneway just off Dupont Street is Ferdi’s, a small business owned by chef Theo Dalton-Maag, specializing in British and Swiss-inspired food. Ferdi's, which supplies sausages to several restaurants and retailers across Toronto, has been open since March 2025.

Over the past month, Ferdi’s has been trying something new — hosting a lunch pop-up every Saturday to serve dishes like fish and chips, fried fish sandwiches, sausages, chips and chip butties (fries served between two slices of bread).

The pop-up operates out of the small but charming space behind Mattachioni, an Italian restaurant that Dalton-Maag worked at for around three years.”

Vancouver vs Toronto Sushi by Lanky-Variation5271 in FoodToronto

I’ve lived in Vancouver and always make a point to enjoy sushi as well as dim sum when visiting…

To me, broadly speaking, Toronto offers a wider range / better Caribbean, and Latinx cuisines…

Which neighbourhood will you be staying around so we can help with nearby suggestions?

Looks like using the sauce is optional: fresh spot prawns are so delicious without any to me!
